Role: MIG Welder

Location: Truro, Cornwall

Shift: Full time Permanent Dayshift

Salary – Up to £36,400 per annum

Key Responsibilities – MIG Welder

Qualifications & Requirements – MIG Welder  

2+ years MIG experience (a weld test will be carried out at interview).Experience working with various thickness materials.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Committed to safety, quality, and productivity.The ability to hit deadlines and achieve daily production schedules.Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and be physically able to cope with typical factory duties including manual handling loads.Ensure a safe and clean working environmentAssist with other duties as and when required

Programming, Setting and operating a variety of CNC Machinery using Mazak control systems to produce turned components to customer drawings and specificationsInspection of your own work to drawing and SPC requirementsGeneral high standard of engineering ability – fully skilledMaintain your area to a high standard

Qualifications & Requirements – CNC Programmer Setter Operator

Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering – nice to haveGeneral high standard of engineering ability – fully skilled - essential+2 years CNC experience (preferably Mazak machines Ability to understand CNC programming language and modify programmes as required. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents to check and inspect finished components for defects.

Our client, a leading name in the food manufacturing industry, is expanding their team and are seeking a mechanical maintenance engineer to support their growing operation in Redditch on a Monday to Friday double days shift. 

The Role

As one of the on site mechanical maintenance engineers, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of essential site services and equipment including but not limited to:

Process cooking equipment and industrial food cooking ovens.Maintaining and repairing pumps, motors and conveyor systems through a wide range of machinery.General site services such as air compressors and water systems.Training will also be provided for other essential services such as steam boilers and refrigeration systems.You will be working as part of an ever expanding team of engineers driven to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety and machine availability.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will be:

A mechanically biased engineer with experience in a manufacturing process environment.Confident working on process equipment and a wide range of site services.
