Shift: Full time Permanent Dayshift

Salary – Up to £36,400 per annum  

A great opportunity to join a successful manufacturing business located in beautiful Cornwall. They are looking for a skilled CNC machinist (Programmer Setter Operator level) to supplement their team in a role that has arisen through growth.

Key Responsibilities – CNC Programmer Setter Operator

This role provides the business with the running of one or more CNC machines.

Programming, Setting and operating a variety of CNC Machinery using Mazak control systems to produce turned components to customer drawings and specificationsInspection of your own work to drawing and SPC requirementsGeneral high standard of engineering ability – fully skilledMaintain your area to a high standard

Qualifications & Requirements – CNC Programmer Setter Operator

Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering – nice to haveGeneral high standard of engineering ability – fully skilled - essential+2 years CNC experience (preferably Mazak machines Ability to understand CNC programming language and modify programmes as required. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents to check and inspect finished components for defects.

The Role

As one of the on site mechanical maintenance engineers, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of essential site services and equipment including but not limited to:

Process cooking equipment and industrial food cooking ovens.Maintaining and repairing pumps, motors and conveyor systems through a wide range of machinery.General site services such as air compressors and water systems.Training will also be provided for other essential services such as steam boilers and refrigeration systems.You will be working as part of an ever expanding team of engineers driven to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety and machine availability.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will be:

A mechanically biased engineer with experience in a manufacturing process environment.Confident working on process equipment and a wide range of site services. Working within a team of highly skilled and trained scientists, based in a UKAS accredited laboratory, the right candidate will be responsible for assisting Lab operations with a strong focus on Water Testing Services.

Key Responsibilities – Chemistry Analyst

To process water samples and read resultsAssistance in the day-to-day management of the laboratoryEnsuring all work is carried out to the highest standard and in a timely mannerReceive samples from customers and process in a timely mannerAdhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, that paperwork is kept in an orderly manner and LIMS is updated correctly.Ensuring all necessary records and quality data are maintained.Familiarity with the contents of the Laboratory Quality Manual and compliance at all times with the policies, procedures and associated documents which are referred to in the Manual in order to comply with the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.Working in a clean and tidy manner with due attention to the careful maintenance of all laboratory fittings and equipment.Must have good laboratory practice and work to the highest standard.Any other tasks reasonably in line with business needs as designated by the Line Manager.

Excellent communication skills, and to be confident when dealing with customers.Able to work well in a team, with an open, honest and approachable character.A good eye for detail and understand fully the business processes.Able to adopt a methodical approach to work with accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.Able to organise and prioritise workload with flexibility to respond positively to changing demands.High degree of computer literacy including the use of programmes such as Excel and Word.Able to maintain focus on what can sometimes be repetitive work.A degree or equivalent in Chemistry is beneficial but not essential.Experience of working within a laboratory environment with competent laboratory bench skills is beneficial but not essential.
