THE ROLE - Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to impressive project and program wins, we are seeking to recruit Mechanical Design Engineers to support our client's aerospace engineering operations.

You'll need to have strong experience in both conceptual design and detailed drawing of components and assemblies, with experience in aerospace deemed highly valuable.

This is an Inside IR35 position that will require on site working due to the nature of the work.

 

DUTIES - Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies
  • Create accurate technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
  • Apply GD&T and perform tolerance analysis
  • Participate in DFMEA and risk identification activities.
  • Present design concepts, progress updates and final designs to customers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure viable manufacturability.
  • Support prototype build, testing and troubleshooting
  • Generate and maintain design documentation
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and CI activities.

 

BACKGROUND - Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or HNC/HND
  • Proficiency in producing technical drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack?ups.
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX preferred)
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems (Teamcenter preferred).
