My client is on the lookout for an experienced Maintenance Technician?to join the team and work in one of their busy Distribution Centres.

The role will involve carrying out planned and reactive maintenance within the Westfield Distribution Centre.

You will be the first line in all maintenance issues throughout your allocated site. You may be required to request specialist attendance following initial call out.

The purpose of this role is to carry out technical repairs and PPM's. You will ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up to date at all times.  

Key Responsibilities - Maintenance Technician

  • Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.  
  • Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary.  
  • Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.  
  • Deliver reactive and planned fire alarm system maintenance  
  • Conduct emergency lighting tests and repairs  
  • Follow purchase order process.  
  • Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.  
  • Ensure that compliance documentation is completed and up to date at all times

Qualifications & Experience - Maintenance Technician

  • Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade level as a minimum, ideally NVQ Level 3/City and guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance.  
  • City and Guilds 2382 18th edition
  • AM2/2391
  • 3 phase electrics and its applications  

 

  • Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment, e.g. commercial ovens, dishwashers and microwaves  

On Offer - Maintenance Technician

  • £339,111.36 (salary including standby allowance) +5% SLA
  • Monday to Friday 10am-6pm, On call every second week

Job Role – Logistics Operator

Reporting to the Logistics Team Lead the Logistics Operator is responsible for handling the day-to-day operations of the logistics department, including movement of storage and distribution of goods. This role involves managing shipments, ensuring proper handling of inventory, coordinator with transportation providers and maintaining accurate documentation.

Duties – Logistics Operator

• Manage the loading and unloading of goods from trucks, containers and other transport vehicles.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders and couriers to ensure proper and prompt movement of shipments.
• Respond to customer inquiries and referring them to proper departments.
• Ensure shipments are shipped on time, meeting company on time delivery targets and revenue targets.
• Perform regular inventory counts, cycle counts and audits to maintain accuracy.
• Maintain accuracy in shipping, receiving and inventory processes.
• Handles shipments, measuring boxes, weights shipments, re-palletizing and packaging delicate and fragile items.
• Kitting of components, etching components.

• Experience in a logistics, warehouse or shipping/receiving role

Responsible for ensuring operational equipment is maintained, prepared, certified, and delivered in accordance with customer and operational requirements. • Assist in the preparation and control of documentation, including calibration certificates, inspection reports, material certifications, quality control records, and equipment test documentation.
• Coordinate and stage equipment and critical spare parts for shipment, ensuring readiness for transport and operational deployment.
• Receive, inspect, and process returned equipment from field operations, identifying maintenance requirements and updating asset status accordingly.
• Support loading and unloading activities and ensure equipment is safely handled, stored, and transported.

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimising, and maintaining automated mechanical engineering processes and related equipment to ensure consistently high product quality, process capability, efficiency, and compliance with applicable standards. Key Responsibilities

Process Development & Optimisation

Develop, validate, and optimise mechanical engineering processes for production and new product introduction.Define and control critical welding parameters (e.g. current, travel speed, wire feed, shielding gas, heat input).Establish robust procedures and operating windows to ensure repeatable, high-quality welds.

Technical Documentation & Standards

Support internal and external audits relating to welding processes and special process controls.

Quality & Problem Solving

Provide technical support to production to resolve weld quality issues such as porosity, lack of fusion, distortion, or cosmetic defects.Lead root cause analysis activities using structured problem-solving tools (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone, PFMEA).Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve weld quality and reduce scrap and rework.

Automation & Equipment Support

Specify, commission, and validate automated welding equipment, fixtures, and tooling.Work with equipment suppliers and integrators to improve system capability and uptime.Support maintenance and calibration strategies for welding equipment and monitoring systems.

Continuous Improvement

Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying Lean six-sigma principles focused on productivity, cost reduction, and process capability (Cp/Cpk).Support trials of new consumables, materials, and technologies.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Design Engineering to influence manufacturability and weld joint design.Support Supply Chain and Quality teams with supplier welding capability assessments when required.Provide training and technical guidance to operators, technicians, and inspectors.

Requirements

Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering processes Proven experience with automated or robotic welding systems Ability to interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.
