Role: Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Bristol, Swindon, Gloucester

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £46,791 basic + Overtime

 

Omega are supporting a leading facilities management provider in their search for a Refrigeration Engineer work on a major UK supermarket contract. The right Refrigeration Engineer will be the first line in all service and maintenance throughout allocated sites. They will also effectively maintain service and repair Refrigeration Equipment in customer locations and aid HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.

Key Responsibilities - Refrigeration Engineer

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on refrigeration systems
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs within agreed response times
  • Identify non-repairable issues and recommend replacements
  • Complete PPM schedules and ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance
  • Participate in on-call rota and manage cover when required
  • Support maintenance of HVAC systems containing refrigeration circuits

Requirements - Refrigeration Engineer

Essential:

  • NVQ / City & Guilds in Refrigeration or equivalent
  • F-Gas / Refrigerant Handling (C&G 2079 or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and air conditioning systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience

Desirable:

 

  • BS7671 
  • Experience within commercial or supermarket environments
  • CO? refrigerant training
  • Hydrocarbon refrigerant experience

The appropriate candidate would be responsible for setting and operating CNC 5 axis milling machine with Mazatrol control machining precision component to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities of CNC miller
Machining Operations: Set up, operate, and run CNC machining processes on 5-axis machining centres and operate other machines when required.
Process Setup: Carry out all setups for products routed through the machining process.
Design Input: Provide advice on the design of fixtures, programs, and tools relevant to the machining processes.

Programming: online and offline
Training: Train and guide operators in machine operation and inspection criteria.
Quality: Conduct self-inspections and complete necessary quality audits to obtain self-certification inspection stamps.
Documentation: Work from approved engineering drawings, inspection plans, and shop documentation, accurately recording required data.
Maintenance: Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery as per company policy.

Key Skills and experience:
Reasonable standard of secondary education.
Experience with 3 and 5 axis machining centres Mazak mazatrol J500 J600 i800 510
A recognized apprenticeship in machining or a related field.
Previous experience in engineering or manufacturing role as a CNC setter
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to problem solve and use own initiative, working to extremely tight tolerances (+-0.010mm)
Flexibility and a positive attitude towards manufacturing tools and techniques
Strong timekeeping and attendance record
