Manual Machinist / Skilled Turner Required

We are looking for a time-served Manual Machinist / Turner to join our client’s skilled machine shop. If you take pride in precision engineering & manufacturing, enjoy working on manual machines, and have a high standard of workmanship, this may be of interest to you.

Key Duties

Operate and set up manual centre lathes to produce high-quality, precision componentsPerform turning, milling, and fitting operations to tight tolerancesRead and interpret technical drawings and specifications accuratelyMeasure and inspect finished parts using precision tools to ensure they meet quality standardsMaintain machines and equipment to ensure optimum performance and reliability

Requirements

Time-served Turner or Toolmaker with proven manual machining experienceStrong proficiency in setting up and operating manual centre lathesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsCompetent in precision measurement and inspection techniquesSolid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materialsResponsible approach to machine maintenance and workplace safetyStrong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skillsProactive, organised, and a positive team player with a can-do attitude Relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeships are advantageous.Desire to learn new skills, including CNC machining.

Qualifications & Experience – Field Service Engineer

HNC/HND or City & Guilds within engineeringExperience of working on machinery within the following industries Paper, Pastry/bakery, Print, Food Manufacturing, Textile or Injection MoldingHave a strong track record in field and service engineeringStrong mechanical and (basic) electrical engineering skillsExperience with Siemens PLC controls is an advantage

Mobile Maintenance Electrician

Norwich

£40,593.78 (salary including on call standby 1:4 + £1,500 competency payment)

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role will involve maintaining and repairing a range of electrical, mechanical plant and equipment in retail outlets, undertaking regular planned store visits to complete reactive, PPMs and minor repairs as requested by the customer (including non-electrical).

Key Responsibilities – Mobile Maintenance Electrician

Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. Deliver reactive and planned catering and bakery equipment maintenanceConduct emergency lighting and fire alarm tests and repairs.Complete general repairs and maintenance to customer sitesIdentify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.

Qualifications & Experience – Mobile Maintenance Electrician

NVQ Level 3/City and guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance. City and Guilds 18th Edition.AM2 / 2391

On Offer – Mobile Maintenance Electrician

£40,593.78 salary (including standby 1:4 + £1,500 competency payment) + overtime + travel timeIncludes a £1,500 competency payment will be added to the basic salary upon completion of electrical fault training for catering and bakery equipment.
