 I am looking for an experienced Quality Inspector with an Engineering background for my client, a globally renowned precision engineering business who are looking for a Quality Inspector to join their expanding team. Their role is to Carry out Inspection activities. Working within a small team of Quality inspectors in a busy inspection environment. The primary focus of this role will be the inspection of small/medium sized aerospace components for my client’s aerospace customers, ensuring full compliance to drawing specifications and AS9102, AS9100 Rev D, and Rolls-Royce SABRe4 requirements.

Key responsibilities – Quality Inspector

The measuring/inspection of precision parts using a wide range of measurement equipment.Develop and maintain Quality inspection plans.Ensure the control of non-conforming products.Conduct Internal non-conformance investigations using 8D/5why etc when required.Develop the use of new measuring equipment.Establish best practice and streamline processes for inspecting items arriving in goods in and work alongside goods in to inspect incoming items.Provide floating inspection support.Ensure compliance with AS9100 Rev D and customer-specific quality standards.Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory auditsInterface with all internal departments on quality concerns.Desire to train on CMM if not already experienced with it.

The person requirements - Quality Inspector

Practical knowledge of the inspection of precision components.Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, technical data and customer specific requirements including geometric tolerancing (GD & T).Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills, and some understanding of Aerospace requirementsProven knowledge of SPC and the deployment of appropriate process quality tools and techniques.Knowledge of quality tools and techniques such as 8d, 5 whyEffectively prioritize daily inspection duties/ activities to meet goals and objectives.Be able to effectively communicate with production.

Nice to Haves:

A qualified Engineer, in an Inspection/Quality related discipline.Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality Inspection role within the aerospace industry.Proven experience of the use of manual handheld measuring equipment.Working knowledge of CMM’sWorking knowledge of profile tracers.Understanding of Internal Audits (AS9100 or ISO 9001).Understanding of NADCAP special processes (e.g., NDT, heat treatment).Knowledge of Calibration.Desire to train on CMM

We are looking for a confident CNC Programmer / Production Engineer who can create accurate CNC programs, support shop floor operations, and work closely with engineering, design and production teams to ensure components are manufactured to the highest standard.

The Role

As a CNC Programmer / Production Engineer, you will be responsible for producing CNC programs and all supporting documentation for the shop floor. You will support the wider machine shop operation, including NPI development and small batch work, tooling requirements, routings, job packs and production documentation. This role would suit someone with a strong machining background who enjoys both technical programming and broader production engineering responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities –Production Engineer  

•             Create CNC programs using CAM software

•             Produce accurate shop floor documentation and job packs

Qualifications & Requirements – Production Engineer      

•             Minimum 3 years’ CNC programming / CAM programming experience

•             Experience using CAM software such as HyperMILL, Mastercam, Edgecam, Siemens NX, SolidCAM, Fusion 360, FeatureCAM, Delcam, PowerMill or similar

•             5-axis programming experience would be highly advantageous

•             A strong machining background across batch production and NPI

•             Experience programming complex, high-precision components

•             Good knowledge of CNC machine tools and manufacturing processes

•             Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T

•             Strong IT skills and good attention to detail

•             Experience with mechanical assembly would be advantageous

•             Experience with ERP systems, routings or job packs would be useful

Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Fitter

The role is to ensure assemblies are manufactured correctly to specification and on time.

• To fit and assemble machine parts accurately to engineering drawing.

• To accurately fit sub assembly parts using engineering drawings.

• Use hand tools and power tools to fit and assemble components.

• Use pillar drills, deburring tools and grinding wheels safely where necessary.

• Use engineering measuring equipment where necessary to ensure components are to specification.

• Drill and tap components when necessary.

• Ensure all torque requirements are met and marked as per procedure.

Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineeringGeneral high standard of engineering ability – fully skilledWorking knowledge of Nakamura machines with bar feed is an advantage but not essentialAdept with FANUC Controls and have solid experience in the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities –Controls Engineer     

To provide Controls System development and support of special purpose automated machinery supplied worldwide.

Duties – Controls Engineer   

Carry out a range of PLC, HMI and Motion Control programming and modification work.Carry out software & hardware configuration of networked control systems with distributed Input Output (IO).Carry out the programming and integration of vision systems for inspection & measurement using Cognex or similar products.Control system support of prototype, new machine builds and existing equipment in the field.Ensure and oversee machine safety to the relevant international standards and practices.Prepare support documentation to assist both machine manufacture, testing and customer documentation packages.Provide customer support and be prepared to travel on site as required.To identify opportunities for process, productivity and quality improvements.To actively participate in product development and improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements – Controls Engineer     

Qualified to HNC / HND or equivalent in a Software related discipline.Proven experience of PLC, HMI and motion programming preferably usingRockwell Logix platform, Safety PLC, Kinetix motion control, Studio 5000 and FTViewME. Siemens Control systems & TIA portal advantageous.Knowledge and programming of robotic applications preferred (Yaskawa preferred).Knowledge of vision systems preferableExcellent communication skills, both written and orally.Self-motivated and enthusiastic and able to communicate at all levels.Positive attitude with ability to work within culturally diverse environments.Helpful and supportive approach to resolution of technical challengesReceptive and adaptable to change.Able to travel internationally to customer sites.

The position involves the setting and testing of automation machinery prior to despatch, commissioning in customer’s overseas factories and the training of operator and maintenance personnel in the use of their equipment.

Duties – International Service Engineer

Must have completed a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship. ONC or HNC in Engineering would be advantage.Mechanically based skillset with a proven track record of mechanical assembly and fault diagnosis.Able to use measuring equipment such as Micrometre and Vernier callipers with an attention to detail.Able to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings.Able to read and interpret pneumatic drawings and circuits. Fault find pneumatic circuits to component level.Basic understanding of electrical control circuits.Basic understanding of PLC Machine controls.Able to write concise informative reports and offer solutions to problems.Self-motivated and enthusiastic and able to communicate at all levels.Must hold a valid passport and be willing to travel internationally and be very flexible in terms of working hours and travel.Comply with the latest vaccinations, inoculations and blood tests for foreign travel.
