Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

Shift: Day shift Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm

Location: North Bristol

A great role with a fast-growing, established precision engineering business based in North Bristol. They are looking for a time-served CNC Miller to program, set and operate CNC Mills using Heidenhain controls.

Key Responsibilities – CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

  • They will be required to accurately read and interpret technical drawings to correctly machine a variety of materials to customer specific processes and requirements, perform appropriate duties as assigned by management, maintain a safe and clean workspace and follow established safety rules and regulations.
  • Report breakdowns, equipment faults and concerns to Management
  • Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives
  • Ensure all lost time, minor and trivial accidents are reported
  • Undertake continuous training and development
  • Support the engineering team with quotations if required
  • Assist in tooling buy off and trials
  • Ability to self-inspect own work using precision inspection tools and devices
  • Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools

Qualifications & Requirements – CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a small team
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality
  • Previous experience within the aerospace tool making industry advantageous
  • Engineering apprenticeship as a tool maker or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience working in a tool making/engineering environment
  • Experience working with an MRP system and following standard operating procedures / work order instructions

Experience in bid, tender or proposal management.Experience in a senior management role leading teams and influencing stakeholders at a senior level.Proven leadership of a complex bid or tender function within a multi-sector or B2B environment.Strong commercial acumen with experience influencing pricing strategies and contractual terms.Demonstrable track record of improving win rates and bid performance.Experience using CRM and bid management systems, ideally Salesforce.Ability to balance strategic thinking with delivery in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and influencing skills across technical, operational and commercial audiences.Experience within Facilities Management, Security, Cleaning or related service sectors.
