I am looking for an experienced Engineering Quality Inspector, a renowned precision engineering business who are looking for a skilled Inspector to join their expanding team. The successful candidate for the Quality Inspector vacancy will be responsible for operating Mitutoyo CMM and inspection of all finished machined parts against the design intent. Additionally, they will be responsible for ensuring that products meet customer specifications and that production batch quantities are maintained.

Key responsibilities – Quality Inspector
In this role you will be responsible for a variety of inspection on all machined parts against the design intent. This will be to meet customer expectations and specifications so that they are maintained at the highest level.
Other responsibilities include:
- To carry out First Article/First Off inspection for components that require going through the CMM.
- Using Measuring equipment to establish the specification of sizes, cylindricity and concentricity.
- Confident decision-making to sign off parts.
- Assist QA Lead in investigating Non-Conformance (NCR), Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and customer complaints.
- Read, interpret and understand Engineering drawings, standards, geometrical tolerances and surface finishes.
- Ensure that there are detailed inspection plans for all parts and that such plans are issue controlled; this includes CMM programs
- Working closely with Production to ensure that quantities are met.
- Carrying out random Patrol Inspections.
Experience or Qualifications –
- Previous experience in a Quality Inspection role within a machine shop environment
- Knowledge of operating medium/large CMM machines.
- Experience of Mitutoyo CMM Measuring (Desirable).
- Experience working within a medical/aerospace industry (Desirable).
- Experience using precision measuring equipment i.e. Mitutoyo Roundness Test, Micrometers, Vernier’s, Height Gauges, Micrometers and Shadow Graphs.
- High Level of Detection.
- Comfortable working to deadlines and tight tolerances.
- Experienced working in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literate.
- Team player.
- Good attention to detail.
- Pride in work.
- Safe and efficient approach to work.
- Able to work to relevant H&S standards.
- Able to read and correctly interpret close tolerance engineering drawings and geometric tolerances (GDT).
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
