Job Title: Injection Moulding Technician

Salary: £16.50 per hour (+ £3.00 night shift premium)

Location: Birmingham

Working Hours: Rotating shifts (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Technician to join a busy and forward-thinking manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for setting and running moulding production orders, ensuring consistent high-quality output. You'll play a key role in achieving Right First Time and Just in Time manufacturing, working with advanced moulding techniques and standardised processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and condition injection mould tools to meet production requirements
  • Run production orders using pre-set programmes, monitoring output quality throughout the shift
  • Respond to machine alarms and faults, implementing permanent corrective actions
  • Carry out routine maintenance and fault finding on injection moulding machines and tooling
  • Control and optimise processing parameters in line with product standards and cost requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, production, and quality checks
  • Support supervision of shift staff when required in the absence of a Supervisor
  • Prepare auxiliary equipment, jigs, fixtures, and assembly machines
  • Perform quality checks in line with company standards and identify defects
  • Carry out first-line troubleshooting of process and quality issues
  • Use and update production monitoring systems (e.g., Blackbird)
  • Ensure safe handling and accurate movement of materials and stock
  • Support tooling trials, processing, and optimisation for new projects
  • Operate forklift truck when licensed
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as an Injection Moulding Technician
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding capability
  • Experience with injection moulding machines, tooling, and process optimisation
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Familiarity with production or ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative mindset
  • Good communication and decision-making ability
  • High attention to detail
  • Continuous improvement mindset with knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles

Main Duties: Compliance and Assurance Administrator

We are now seeking Mechanical Fitter to carry out mechanical assembly of pumps with either an electric motor or diesel engine. The appropriate candidate would have previous experience in working within mechanical assembly or mechanical fitting environment.

                               

Responsibilities:

Build bare shaft pumps to engineering drawings.Assemble diesel skid sets to engineering drawings and bill of material listing.Assemble electric skid sets to engineering drawings and bill of material listing.Raise any assembly issues with QA engineer and supervisor.Fill in production data books with project critical information requested.Complete check sheets.Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules as detailed in risk assessments and COSHH sheets.Communication with peer group e.g. when working on a project build together / across shifts.Communication with test e.g. that a pump is ready for test on the well.

Requirements:

Recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ3 or equivalent and 3 years of experience or previous experience in fitting.Read engineering drawingsAbility to work double day shift.

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role will involve maintaining and repairing a range of electrical, mechanical and catering equipment in retail outlets, undertaking regular planned store visits to complete reactive work, PPMs and minor repairs as requested by the customer.

Key Responsibilities – Mobile Maintenance Electrician

Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. Deliver reactive and planned catering and bakery equipment maintenanceConduct emergency lighting and fire alarm tests and repairs.Complete general repairs and maintenance to customer sitesIdentify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
