Position: Fabricator

Location: Caldicot

Type of position: permanent

Salary: £33000 to £41600 per annum

Working 0700 – 1600 (Monday-Thursday) and 0700 – 1300 (Friday), 40 hours a week  

We are now seeking to recruit Fabricator/ Welder for a busy manufacturing company based in Caldicot. The appropriate fabricator would be responsible for welding and fabricating of structural steel components to engineering drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and weld metal components and structures according to specifications and drawings.
  • Read and interpret Engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and welding.
  • Operate various fabrication and welding equipment, including welding machines, cutting torches, vertical drilling, bending machines and grinders.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure fabricated components meet specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient project completion.
  • MIG & TIG welding. 
  • Carry out cutting, grinding, finishing, and any additional fabrication (machining, fitting, bolting) required to meet design tolerances

Requirements:

  • Time served apprenticeship or similar in welding/fabrication
  • Background and Experience fabrication
  • Any relevant qualifications are a bonus
  • Experience/background working within a manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of Health and Safet
  • Previous experience in using grinders, drills, oxy/acetylene cutting equipment, press brake, rolls will be required.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
