Position: Fabricator /Welder

The hours are 39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday – 7.00 am – 4.00 pm and 7.00 am – 12.00 pm Friday
Salary: up to £32448
We are now seeking to recruit Welder/ Fabricator for a busy manufacturing company based in Blaenavon to fabricate and weld of light to medium gauge steel in line with the detailed engineering drawing provided, occasionally liaising with other departments of the fabrication shop to ensure the fabrication is to the standard required.
Responsibilities:
- Read, interpret and follow engineering plans, drawings and instructions to ensure exact specifications of output
- Fabricating work in various gauge metals (light to medium)
- MIG welding (predominately mild steel)
- Tig welding (predominately stainless steel)
- Grinding/polishing fabricated items by using various handheld tools and/or dedicated material finishing machinery
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet quality standards
Requirements:
- Experience of working in a fabrication environment (engineering or metal work)
- Demonstrable experience of MIG and Tig welding and fabrication especially with welding mild steel and stainless steel
- Experience of reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Fabrication and Welding qualification or time served apprenticeship
