About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Production Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturer in Nottingham. This is a unique role combining hands-on maintenance and machine optimization within a highly automated production, process and packaging environment.
Working on high-speed manufacturing production lines, you'll be responsible for maximizing equipment performance through fault finding, preventative maintenance and operational support. The role is split approximately making it ideal for mechanically minded engineers.
Key Responsibilities - Production Maintenance Engineer
Operational maintainenanace of high-speed automated packing and production linesCarry out first-line mechanical fault finding and repairs to minimise downtimeDiagnose equipment issues and deliver first-fix solutions where possibleComplete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activitiesMaintain and replace bearings, motors, belts, chains and gearboxesSupport the maintenance of conveyors, pumps and pneumatic systemsRespond to breakdowns and carry out root cause investigationsWork closely with production teams to achieve challenging output targetsSupport continuous improvement, OEE and waste reduction initiativesEnsure compliance with GMP, LOTO and site safety proceduresMaintain accurate maintenance records and equipment documentationDrive reliability and operational effectiveness across production lines
Experience / Qualifications - Production Maintenance Engineer
NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification essential.Strong mechanical maintenance background within a manufacturing environment.Experience fault finding on automated production, packaging or process equipment.Knowledge of bearings, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, pumps and pneumatics.Understanding of preventative maintenance and breakdown response.Ability to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.Experience within FMCG, food, pharmaceutical, packaging or manufacturing environments advantageous.Ex-Forces engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.Strong communication skills and ability to work within a fast-paced production environment.Basic electrical awareness would be beneficial.

3 Shift Rotation
Monday to Friday: 6am to 2pmMonday to Friday: 2pm to 10pmSunday to Thursday: 10pm to 6am
4 on 4 off
6am to 6pm Days6pm to 6am Nights
Candidates must be flexible to work either shift pattern depending on business requirements.
