The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Production Assembler to join an established manufacturing business ideally situated between Gloucester and Cheltenham.

You'll ideally have prior experience in manufacturing, however other comparable experience will be considered.

 

Duties

Assemble various electrical assemblies from kits issued to youAssemble various mechanical sub-assemblies from kits issued to you.Combining electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies into completed product.Runs basic tests on completed units in your work area.Pack finished and tested products into specific packaging systems.Record test results and keep a detailed log using company databaseEnsure good house keeping ensuring working area is tidy and organised

A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join its engineering team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, and cost-effective production.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in optimising manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting new product introductions from concept through to full production.

Key Responsibilities – Production Engineer Process Development & Continuous Improvement: Develop and improve manufacturing processes to achieve high levels of quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance (QCD).Review and optimise manufacturing methods, tooling, and materials to support cost reduction initiatives.Lead continuous improvement activities across manufacturing operations.Support quality investigations and implement robust root cause corrective actions.Lead and facilitate continuous improvement teams focused on operational performance. Manufacturing Engineering & Documentation: Create, maintain, and manage key process documentation, including PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.Develop and support manufacturing processes for new and existing products.Support the integration of BOMs, routing structures, and ERP system requirements.Assist with manufacturing cost assessments and process validation activities.Conduct component and process reviews to support tooling, equipment, and production readiness. Production & Project Support: Support engineering and manufacturing teams in delivering projects and operational objectives.Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) activities throughout the product development lifecycle.Support risk assessments and process capability studies.Assist with project development activities and engineering reviews.Lead or support prototype, trial, and pre-production builds where required.Provide ongoing manufacturing support to ensure a smooth transition into full production. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety policies.Adhere to Environmental and 5S standards across all manufacturing activities.Promote safe working practices and continuous workplace organisation improvements. Qualifications & Requirements – Production Engineer Minimum of 5 years' experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment.Proven track record of delivering manufacturing process improvements.Experience supporting product introductions, process development, and production improvements.Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, and manufacturing best practices.Six Sigma experience preferred, with Green Belt or Black Belt qualification advantageous but not essential.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams through improvement initiatives.Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are now seeking to recruit Warehouse Operator to assist with packing and moving company bespokesystems and equipment from completion of testing through to packing and dispatch.

The role includes packing cryogenic systems, transfer lines, cables and associated equipment, preparing and organising test bays, and arranging UK and international shipments.

Main Responsibilities

Move completed systems from the Test Lab to the packing area.Check all equipment against the packing list before packing.Pack cryogenic systems safely and securely into shipping crates.Pack, protect and clearly label transfer lines, cables, valves and other equipment.Take photographs of systems and equipment before and during packing.Assist Test Engineers with setting up and clearing test bays.Prepare equipment, cables, hoses and other items required for testing.Keep the packing and test areas clean and organised.Arrange collections with couriers and freight companies.Prepare packing lists and shipping paperwork.Prepare customs documentation for international shipments.Record shipment weights, dimensions and contents accurately.Load crates and equipment safely onto collection vehicles.Operate the forklift for moving and loading equipment.

Essential Requirements

Forklift licence – essential.Previous experience in packing, logistics, manufacturing or an engineering environment.Good practical skills.Good attention to detail.Able to follow instructions and packing documentation accurately.Comfortable using computers and completing basic paperwork.Able to work independently and take responsibility for completing shipments correctly.Physically capable of handling packing and material-moving activities.

Desirable

Experience packing large, fragile or high-value equipment.Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing company.Experience arranging freight or international shipments.Experience preparing customs and export documentation.
