Job Title: Injection Moulding Technician

Salary: £16.50 per hour (+ £3.00 night shift premium)

Location: Birmingham

Working Hours: Rotating shifts (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Technician to join a busy and forward-thinking manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for setting and running moulding production orders, ensuring consistent high-quality output. You'll play a key role in achieving Right First Time and Just in Time manufacturing, working with advanced moulding techniques and standardised processes.

Key Responsibilities

Set and condition injection mould tools to meet production requirementsRun production orders using pre-set programmes, monitoring output quality throughout the shiftRespond to machine alarms and faults, implementing permanent corrective actionsCarry out routine maintenance and fault finding on injection moulding machines and toolingControl and optimise processing parameters in line with product standards and cost requirementsMaintain accurate records of maintenance, production, and quality checksSupport supervision of shift staff when required in the absence of a SupervisorPrepare auxiliary equipment, jigs, fixtures, and assembly machinesPerform quality checks in line with company standards and identify defectsCarry out first-line troubleshooting of process and quality issuesUse and update production monitoring systems (e.g., Blackbird)Ensure safe handling and accurate movement of materials and stockSupport tooling trials, processing, and optimisation for new projectsOperate forklift truck when licensedParticipate in training and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 3 years' experience as an Injection Moulding TechnicianStrong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding capabilityExperience with injection moulding machines, tooling, and process optimisationBasic electrical knowledgeFamiliarity with production or ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics)Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative mindsetGood communication and decision-making abilityHigh attention to detailContinuous improvement mindset with knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a global automotive technology manufacturer at its Bolton facility on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to influence supplier performance, support new product launches and drive continuous improvement across a global supply chain.

Key Responsibilities - Supplier Quality Engineer

Support the approval and qualification of new suppliers through management system and process audits.Manage supplier activities throughout New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring project deadlines are achieved.Lead Supplier APQP and PPAP approval activities.Conduct ongoing supplier audits and assessments to maintain supplier approval status.Develop suppliers through training, coaching and deployment of quality standards.Carry out supplier visits for audits, development projects and corrective action reviews.Act as the primary quality interface between suppliers and the business.Monitor and report supplier quality KPIs, driving improvements in supplier performance.Lead supplier corrective and preventive action activities.Manage quality-related aspects of supplier change control processes.Investigate and manage supplier non-conformances and rejection issues.

Experience/Qualifications - Supplier Quality Engineer

HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering.Qualified IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.3 Auditor.Minimum 3 years' experience in a Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering role.Automotive experience preferred, although backgrounds in electronics, mechanical manufacturing or high-volume assembly environments will also be considered.Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, R&R and supplier development methodologies.Experience conducting supplier audits and managing supplier improvement projects.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Comfortable travelling to supplier sites when required.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities - Quality Technician (Automotive)

Analyse customer and field returns to identify defects and root causes.Carry out functional testing and dimensional measurement of new and existing products.Perform product reliability testing in line with customer requirements and project timescales.Produce clear and accurate technical reports detailing investigation findings and recommendations.Operate, inspect and maintain testing and measurement equipment.Support the creation and maintenance of testing procedures and standard operating instructions.Assist with customer and supplier PPAP activities.Support manufacturing operations with containment and quality-related activities when required.Work with Quality Engineers, customers and suppliers to support investigations and corrective actions.

The Role - Aerospace Mechanical Technician

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical biased Technician to join a prominent aerospace engineering business in the Wolverhampton area.

You will be assembling and testing a mix of complex mechanical systems either in the repair section or in the new product build area.

You'll ideally have some prior aerospace experience, however for the right person this could be a great step into this world.

 

Duties - Aerospace Mechanical Technician

Finding and testing faults of complex hydraulic products.Assembling of complex hydraulic products.Reading engineering drawings.Completing Quality Audits.Building new/repairing complex hydraulic products.Using measuring equipment such as Micrometers, Vernier Calipers and Height Gauges to inspect component parts.

 

Background - Aerospace Assembly Technician

Apprentice trained (or equivalent level of qualification) ideally within Mechanical Engineering.Proven experience within a complex engineering/manufacturing environmentCompetent at reading and following different set procedures.Competency with a range of assembly toolsHydraulic Testing Experience
