Omega are delighted to be supporting a leading organisation in the recruitment of a Laboratory Technician to join their well-established R&D laboratory in the Leicester area, supporting core analytical testing across routine, innovation, and manufacturing activities.

This is a hands-on role focused on delivering accurate, reliable test results, working with key methods including oil, salt, and moisture analysis. Ideal for someone who enjoys practical lab work and working with structured testing processes.

 

Main Duties - Laboratory Technician

  •  Carry out routine analytical testing including oil, salt, and moisture analysis
  • Operate and maintain titrators and associated laboratory equipment
  • Prepare samples and perform testing in line with standard laboratory procedures
  • Conduct calibration, routine checks, and basic troubleshooting of lab equipment
  • Accurately record, interpret, and report results within lab systems
  • Support testing activities for product innovation, shelf life, and manufacturing requirements
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Identify and escalate any issues with test results, equipment, or methods
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient laboratory environment

 

The Ideal Candidate - Laboratory Technician

  • Experience working within a laboratory, QC, or testing environment
  • Hands-on experience with titration / titrators highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency
  • Good understanding of lab safety and quality procedures
  • Comfortable working with routine methods and structured processes

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our team. This is a varied and hands-on position involving the commissioning of equipment, plant, and systems both across the UK and internationally. You'll play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operating safely and efficiently, while working closely with customers to achieve successful project delivery.

This role would suit an engineer with a strong electrical engineering background, excellent fault-finding skills, and experience working with motor control and inverter control systems.
