Logistics Specialist

Shift: Monday to Friday (08:00 - 17:00)

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

 

A well-established and growing organisation is seeking a proactive Logistics Specialist to join its Supply Chain team based in Maldon. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Review sales orders and coordinate inbound and outbound shipment bookings alongside Customer Service and Planning teamsManage UK and export shipments via road, sea, and air freight, including groupage consignmentsCreate detailed loading plans to maximise vehicle and container utilisationMaintain and update daily warehouse loading schedules, ensuring clear communication of any changesGenerate inventory picking instructions in line with shipment requirementsObtain, compare, and analyse carriage quotations to support commercial decision-makingMaintain transport and shipping cost records and spreadsheetsIdentify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across logistics activitiesAct as a point of contact for customer enquiries regarding export procedures and transport arrangementsEnsure correct application of Incoterms and compliance with export documentation requirementsPrepare and verify export paperwork and carriage documentationMonitor supplier, carrier, and 3PL performance, implementing corrective actions where requiredLiaise with freight forwarders and transport providers to maintain service levels and cost controlSupport KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain function

 

Qualifications / Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience within a transport, logistics, or supply chain environmentStrong understanding of road, sea, and air freight operationsExperience coordinating export shipments and groupage consignmentsKnowledge of export documentation and international shipping proceduresGood understanding of IncotermsExcellent Microsoft Excel and general IT skillsGCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)Industry-recognised Logistics or Supply Chain qualification (IoSCM, CIPS, or similar) - desirableCertificate in Export Documentation - desirableFluent English, both written and verbal

We are looking for a commercially driven and strategically minded Strategic Buyer to play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of Energy Industry projects.

This is a high-impact position where you will develop and execute supply chain strategies, deliver significant cost savings, and build strong supplier relationships that create real competitive advantage. You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Project teams to ensure all procurement and logistics activities meet contractual, financial, quality, and HSE standards while keeping projects on time.

Key Responsibilities - Strategic Buyer (Engineering)

Develop and execute strategic supply chain initiatives that support project and sales objectives.Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers, building long-term, high-performing partnerships.Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost reductions and secure favourable contractual terms.Support bid and proposal activities, ensuring submissions are technically and commercially competitive.Evaluate supplier bids against technical and commercial criteria to select best-value partners.Manage framework agreements, subcontracts, and the full end-to-end procurement process in line with company policies.Oversee purchase orders, delivery performance, supplier KPIs (OTD, quality, lead time), and proactively resolve issues.Maintain strong supplier governance and accurate data in procurement systems to ensure compliance and transparency.

Experience/Qualifications - Strategic Buyer (Engineering)

Proven experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics.Strong background in electrical procurement, particularly high-voltage equipment.Ability to assess supplier technical compliance against electrical RFQs, including ratings, certifications, and safety requirements.A solid track record of delivering cost savings both at bid stage and during project execution.Excellent commercial negotiation and supplier management skills.Goal-oriented, resilient, and able to work independently to achieve objectives.Collaborative and solution-focused with strong written and verbal communication skills.Genuine passion for excellence in Procurement and Logistics.

Commercial Gas Engineer

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role will involve carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across several retail stores, maintaining, and repairing a range of commercial heating systems and air conditioning units. Additionally, you will undertake regular planned store visits to complete reactive work, PPMs and minor repairs as requested by the customer.

Key Responsibilities – Commercial Gas Engineer

Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across a number of sites. Service and repair a range of mechanical equipment, e.g. boilers, fans, pumps, AHU's, FCU's.Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.Order spares to the laid-down procedures.Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the HVAC supervisor of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.

Qualifications & Experience – Commercial Gas Engineer

SVQ/NVQ Level 3 within Heating/Ventilation/Mechanical / HVAC or Equivalent Qualification.ACS Commercial Gas Qualifications COCN, CIGA, CORT, ICPN, CDGA, TPCP1/1A as a minimum.

Refrigeration Engineer

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join their team where you will be working across East Midlands.

You will be responsible for ensuring that refrigeration systems are Serviced & Maintained correctly which include heavy commercial and Industrial systems (CO2, Freon, and Chilled water applications - Ammonia experience advantageous, but not essential)

You will be working closely with the Service admin team, Service Supervisors, and other senior service engineers to ensure that the refrigeration systems meet the required specifications and standard for our clients. You will need to make sure clients systems are running to their optimum condition to meet site operating requirements, always ensuring safe systems of work.

Qualifications & Experience - Refrigeration Engineer
