Logistics Specialist

Location: Essex

Shift: Monday to Friday (08:00 - 17:00)

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

 

A well-established and growing organisation is seeking a proactive Logistics Specialist to join its Supply Chain team based in Maldon. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review sales orders and coordinate inbound and outbound shipment bookings alongside Customer Service and Planning teams
  • Manage UK and export shipments via road, sea, and air freight, including groupage consignments
  • Create detailed loading plans to maximise vehicle and container utilisation
  • Maintain and update daily warehouse loading schedules, ensuring clear communication of any changes
  • Generate inventory picking instructions in line with shipment requirements
  • Obtain, compare, and analyse carriage quotations to support commercial decision-making
  • Maintain transport and shipping cost records and spreadsheets
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across logistics activities
  • Act as a point of contact for customer enquiries regarding export procedures and transport arrangements
  • Ensure correct application of Incoterms and compliance with export documentation requirements
  • Prepare and verify export paperwork and carriage documentation
  • Monitor supplier, carrier, and 3PL performance, implementing corrective actions where required
  • Liaise with freight forwarders and transport providers to maintain service levels and cost control
  • Support KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain function

 

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a transport, logistics, or supply chain environment
  • Strong understanding of road, sea, and air freight operations
  • Experience coordinating export shipments and groupage consignments
  • Knowledge of export documentation and international shipping procedures
  • Good understanding of Incoterms
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Industry-recognised Logistics or Supply Chain qualification (IoSCM, CIPS, or similar) - desirable
  • Certificate in Export Documentation - desirable
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role will involve carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across several retail stores, maintaining, and repairing a range of commercial heating systems and air conditioning units. Additionally, you will undertake regular planned store visits to complete reactive work, PPMs and minor repairs as requested by the customer.

Key Responsibilities – Commercial Gas Engineer

Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across a number of sites.
