A leading automotive manufacturer supplying high‑end lighting systems to luxury and supercar brands is seeking an Advanced Quality Engineer to join its NPI Quality team. This role plays a key part in ensuring flawless new product introduction, driving APQP activity, and delivering robust BEON/PPAP submissions across multiple customer programmes.

Key Responsibilities – Advanced Quality Engineer

  • Coordinate and control all APQP documentation through to PPAP approval for new programme launches.
  • Execute PPAP submissions for customer‑driven and internal engineering changes.
  • Interpret and apply customer‑specific PPAP requirements.
  • Oversee quality‑related gateway tasks and ensure compliance with latest customer standards.
  • Act as the internal customer for BEON/PPAP deliverables.
  • Support Run at Rate and 2DP activities to ensure safe and stable product launch.
  • Participate in gauge design reviews and acceptance processes.
  • Provide statistical analysis support during product maturation phases.
  • Produce monthly PPAP/BEON status reports for management.
  • Support D/PFMEA and DFM reviews.
  • Escalate risks and delays affecting BEON/PPAP submission targets.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive effective problem resolution.
  • Support Supplier Quality in cascading customer‑specific requirements.
  • Act as point of contact for customer project quality concerns and milestone reviews.
  • Contribute to lessons‑learned workshops across the product range.

Qualifications & Requirements – Advanced Quality Engineer

  • Strong experience within medium‑volume manufacturing, ideally automotive.
  • Deep knowledge of automotive quality tools and APQP methodology.
  • Demonstrable problem‑solving capability (8D, PPS, advanced methods).
  • Solid understanding of IMDS.
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Strong organisational and follow‑up abilities.
  • Competent in team building, planning and decision‑making.
  • IATF 16949 auditing experience essential (VDA desirable).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Minitab.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to influence at all levels.

This role supports the development and validation of new products through advanced 3D scanning, measurement, and reporting activities. Working closely with Design, Tooling, and Quality functions, you will play a key part in ensuring components meet specification throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities – Graduate Metrology Engineer

3D Scanning & Measurement:

Develop measurement programmes for moulded child parts using PolyWorks.Work with measurement technicians to complete scans and generate FAIR/CTS reports.Produce measurement reports for every drawing revision and modification.Ensure all child parts have validated 3D scanning programmes and documented results.

Quality & APQP Support:

Provide CTS data to project teams as soon as parts are available.Issue FAIR documentation for all moulded components at drawing release.Verify CTS corrections and drawing modifications beyond Rev A.Complete first off inspection reports for all moulded parts.

Design & Engineering Collaboration:

Liaise with Design to optimise measurement features and tolerances in line with DIN16742.Report deviations to the tooling project team for inclusion in CTS.Support drawing updates and tolerance reviews for moulded components.

Continuous Improvement:

Support improvements in 3D scanning processes and reporting methods.Investigate assembly related issues as agreed with the Quality Manager.

Analysis & Reporting:

Support statistical studies when required (subject to Quality Manager approval).Provide measurement input for CTS and new product introduction activities.

Customer Support:

Assist customer quality representatives during project related visits or reviews.

Qualifications & Requirements – Graduate Metrology Engineer

Degree in Engineering, or HNC/HND with relevant experience.Strong organisational and follow‑up skills.Competent in problem solving, planning, and decision‑making.Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.Able to communicate effectively at all levels, from shop floor to director.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).Commercially aware with a proactive approach to quality.

We are now seeking to recruit mechanical assembler / fitter for busy manufacturing company based in Bath. The appropriate candidate would be responsible for assembly and test of high precision components and associated parts for defence industry sector.

Responsibilities of an assembler/ fitter will include:
• Cleaning of components prior to assembly process
• Pressure testing including pre & post measurement and recording of results
• Assembly of components in line with work instructions
• Booking components into job orders via computerised stock control system
• Operation of manual / automated test rigs and recording of data / results
• Assist with paint masking / post paint finishing operations
• De-masking of components following final paint application
• Port identification colour coding as required
• Final assembly of components including identification prior to final packing
• Packing product into shipping boxes and transfer to despatch area
• To carry out basic in process quality control checks
• To assist in other areas of production within capabilities as and when required

The suitable assembler/ fitter is required to have:
• Proven experience in a production or automotive based assembly environment
• Strong team-working ethic, with the drive and flexibility to maintain pace of work as priorities and requirements change

• Willingness to be trained with new skills
• Attention to detail

What you’ll be doing

What we’re looking for:

CIPD Level 3 qualified (Level 5 desirable or equivalent experience).
At least 2 years’ experience in an HR Advisor / HR Officer role (or equivalent), ideally within a manufacturing, operational, or unionised environment.
Previous experience of managing your own ER case load
Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and employee relations best practice.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence, challenge, and build credibility with managers at all levels.
Data‑literate, organised, and comfortable juggling priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
Experience with HR systems (SAP desirable), payroll exposure, and working with external providers.

Duties – Electronics Technician (CompEx)

• Maintain assigned equipment according to the pertinent maintenance program and compliant with the reliability centered maintenance strategy through adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard work.
• Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies, labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain.
• Comply with TLM Product Line standards.
• Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and improvement plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).

Skills/Experience – Electronics Technician (CompEx)

• COMPEX certified Electronics/Electrician
• Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, components, and systems
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment and instrumentation
• Competency in reading and interpreting electrical/electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
• Understanding of control systems, sensors, and automation equipment
• Familiarity with digital and analogue electronics
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and best practices
• Ability to install, calibrate, and maintain electronic systems and devices
