Role Responsibilities – Senior Project Engineer

Manage the planning and implementation of capital and revenue projects, covering factory equipment, process, packing lines, site services, process engineering, as well as construction design managementDrive line installations and BAU engineering projectsPlan, execute and lead project activities for feasibility studies, equipment specifications, supplier selections, equipment commissioning and validationReporting directly to the Project Engineering Manager, you will have complete autonomy to deliver pragmatic, value-engineered projects to cost and time specificationsYou will coach, mentor, and develop your multi-functional teams of engineers and designers/contractorsThe projects will cover factory equipment, including packaging, processing, and site activitiesEngineering Compliance Champion: Ensure all engineering activities meet industry standardsYou will lead engineering and production teams during equipment installation and start-up, supplier selection, feasibility and justification analysis, and equipment commissioningLiaise with departments cross-functionally to ascertain requirements and define project scopesPreparing specifications/briefs which will go to external suppliers for tenderManaging tender processes, including supplier selection exercisesManaging external suppliers throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications & Requirements – Senior Project Engineer

Mechanical or Electrical Engineering backgrounds will be considered, ideally in a regulated environment, from high-volume manufacturing.Experience developing technical engineering solutions in automated environmentsAn experienced Project Engineer from FMCG manufacturing, food preferredIdeally, A degree in Engineering or time-served engineering qualifications with a further education qualification in project managementHigh level of IT literacy (and ideally fully conversant with MS Project)Proven Leadership and senior stakeholder management: Significant experience in a senior engineering management role within the manufacturing FMCG-related sectorThis could include Food, Drink, Pharma and related consumer goods manufacturing, encompassing process and packagingMechanical/electrical qualification or equivalent, ideally a degree, even better if you are chartered!5+ years of Engineering leadership experience; with exposure to FMCG environments idealExcellent People leadership skills to motivate, lead and drive projects

Injection Moulding Tool Setter

Location: Leighton Buzzrd 

Shift: Permanent - Days (6am-2pm / flexibility for 7am-3pm)

Salary: £40,000 

A growing and evolving plastics manufacturer is seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Tool Setter to join its small, close-knit mouldshop team. Working with Romi and Demag machines, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business investing in its processes and equipment while offering a stable days-based role. The successful candidate will play a key role in setting up machines, maintaining tooling, and ensuring smooth and efficient daily production. This position offers a strong work-life balance with a consistent shift pattern and a collaborative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Set and prepare injection moulding machines (Romi & Demag) for daily productionCarry out tool changes and ensure machines are production-readyLoad tools and set machines to achieve optimal cycle performancePerform basic tool cleaning, maintenance, and machine servicingTroubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimise downtimeConduct quality checks on components to ensure high standards are metWork closely with production and quality teams to resolve any issuesSupport development work and process improvements (typically on Fridays)Maintain a clean and safe working environment

 

Qualifications / Experience:

Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Setter / TechnicianEssential experience with Romi and Demag machinesExperience with robot equipment (desirable)Strong understanding of injection moulding processes and toolingAbility to fault find and resolve machine or tooling issuesHigh attention to detail with a focus on qualityGood communication skills and a team-oriented approachRelevant technical or vocational training (desirable)

 

Hours:

Monday to FridayDays: 6am-2pm (flexibility to work 7am-3pm)Occasional flexibility required to meet business demands
