Job Title: Sales & Manufacturing Engineer

Shift: Day shift

Location: Cheltenham

We are seeking a driven and technically capable Sales & Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid role combining customer-facing technical sales with hands-on manufacturing engineering.

You will be responsible for developing customer relationships, generating new business, and delivering end-to-end manufacturing solutions—from initial enquiry through to production. This role requires strong knowledge of precision machining, commercial awareness, and the ability to translate customer requirements into efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes.

 

Key Responsibilities – Sales & Manufacturing Engineer

  • Engage with customers to develop tailored manufacturing solutions
  • Manage and grow key accounts while identifying new business opportunities
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and support customer tenders
  • Lead projects from enquiry through to production and successful delivery
  • Develop manufacturing methods, process plans, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ability to generate CNC programs (Milling, Turning, EDM) using CAM software
  • Ability to produce CAD drawings and design jigs/fixtures (HyperMILL)
  • Ensure smooth transition of new projects into production
  • Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Support tooling, inspection, and production readiness activities

 

Qualifications & Requirements – Sales & Manufacturing Engineer

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong background in precision machining and manufacturing engineering
  • Experience in technical sales, account management, or customer-facing engineering roles
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., HyperMILL & Vericut)
  • Knowledge of CNC machining processes and manufacturing methods
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Understanding of AS9100 or similar quality standards
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Commercially aware with a proactive, results-driven approach
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defence
  • Knowledge of ITAR/export regulations
  • Experience with Lean tools (5S, SPC, TPM, etc.)
  • Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)

£40,593.78 (Inclusive of Standby (1:4 x 13 Periods) & Competency Payment) + overtime + travel timeIncludes a £1,500 competency payment will be added to the basic salary upon completion of electrical fault training for catering and bakery equipment.
