How it all started

Founded in 1998, Omega Resource Group is an award-winning recruitment company that is part of the Staffline group.

​When it all began

Omega was built on an idea and concept of 3 friends (Ray, Alan & James), with the ambition of being a reputable Engineering Recruitment business in Gloucestershire. A small business loan was secured from the local bank, and with no candidate database or clients, setup with a small office of 2 desks, 1 computer and a fax machine – the boys got selling.

International ambition

The UK employment market was tight, with the country nearing full employment, client demand was still high, the Omega team travelled to Poland, where there was an abundance of workers looking to travel to the UK to gain employment. So began, Omega building its International recruitment expertise. Opening an office in Krakow and hiring an Omega team there, the business was able to fully support workers relocation to the UK with full employment guaranteed.

Business of the year

Following a significantly successful year and further expansion of the business into an Engineering manufacturing facility (Omega Engineering Services), Omega deservedly won the coveted South West Business of the Year award.

The decade

​2008 marked a decade in trading, a decade in delivering the highest level of customer service to our clients, new client wins, the development of our trainee consultant programme and the excuse for one hell of a party at Cheltenham Town Hall.

Top 25 fastest growing business in Gloucestershire

Well known and established as a global resource solutions specialist, Omega were awarded the Top 25 Fastest Growing businesses in Gloucestershire award. With an overall 250%+ growth over the last four financial years. Continued increase in revenue from £39m in 2014 through £63m in 2015 to £84m in 2016.

A new home - Staffline

2018 saw the landmark achievement of 20 years in business, 180 staff across 11 UK locations, revenues of £72 million and an operating profit of £2 million. All supported with an impressive client base across the Engineering and Manufacturing
sectors.
 
It was this reason, that Omega was acquired by Staffline Group, broadening their South West presence, increasing the market share in manufacturing whilst opening doors to new sectors within the group.

A new leader, new strategic direction, fresh Brand

2020 began with a new leader joining Omega, Mark Porch, who intends on taking the business in a new strategic direction, keeping the core of Omega in place but improving our offering to clients and growing the business across the UK. Omega had a brand refresh to compliment the fresh, dynamic modern business we are. Strong future plans for 21/22 onwards
