Key Responsibilities – Electrical Shift Engineer

  • To service, adjust and repair machinery and equipment using the necessary tools safely
  • To examine machinery and equipment and report on condition, performance, and plan of action for improvements
  • Carry out planned and preventive maintenance according to agreed schedules
  • Share good ideas to form mini projects to improve the plant performance, including machinery modifications

Qualifications & Requirements – Electrical Shift Engineer

  • ONC - Multi-skilled Engineering
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical engineering, maintenance, or similar manufacturing
  • HND or HNC diploma in Electrical engineering

Experience of:

  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems
  • Control panels / control cabinets
  • Electric motors (AC/DC)
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Sensors and instrumentation
  • Industrial robots and robotic cells
  • Conveyor systems
  • HMI (Human-Machine Interface) panels
  • Safety systems
  • Power distribution systems
  • Preferably with a manufacturing background
  • FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Food and Drink, Packaging, Manufacturing and chemicals

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Engineering Shift Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business on a permanent basis.

 

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering teams of 10-15 engineers across 2 manufacturing sitesWork closely with the Head of Engineering and senior leadership team to minimise plant downtimeEnsure all preventative maintenance activities are completed effectively to avoid production disruptionCarry out and support both electrical and mechanical reactive and proactive maintenanceInvestigate machinery breakdowns and equipment failures to establish root causesAction repairs efficiently and accurately record all maintenance activities to identify recurring faultsSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on plant productivity and efficiencyEnsure engineering stores, spare parts, materials, and equipment are available when requiredCollaborate with production and operations teams to support manufacturing performanceMaintain high standards of health, safety, food safety, and engineering complianceDrive engineering best practice across both manufacturing sites

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive refrigeration works across retail storesWorking on CO? refrigeration pack systemsDiagnosing faults, completing repairs, and recommending replacements where requiredAttending scheduled store visits to complete maintenance and repair tasksUndertaking minor installation and system alterations within your skillset

 

Pay & Working Pattern - The Important Bit

Basic Salary: £53,319.36 (inclusive of standby payments)OTE: £60K - £65K (based on typical engineer earnings)Overtime: Paid for hours worked beyond contracted hoursOn-Call: 1 in 4 weeks (paid in addition to standby allowance)45-hour working week
