Role Duties & Responsibilities - Mechanical Engineering Technician

  • Join a modern, automated factory environment and use your mechanical engineering experience to:
  • Maintain, service, and repair a range of production machinery – including motors, gearboxes, high-speed packaging lines, and conveyors
  • Conduct proactive and reactive mechanical fault finding
  • Lead planned and preventative maintenance activities

What We’re Looking For: Mechanical Engineering Technician

  • We value military-trained engineers who’ve been tested in high-pressure environments. Ideally, you’ll have:
  • NVQ Level 3 / ONC / C&G in Mechanical Engineering (or Armed Forces trade equivalent: REME, RAF, or Royal Navy training)
  • Strong fault-finding and mechanical repair skills
  • Experience with pneumatics and fast-moving machinery (advantageous but not essential)
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude with a hunger to learn and grow

We are now seeking to recruit a mechanical fitter to work for a dynamic and growing company manufacturing fluid systems. Th appropriate candidate would be responsible for mechanical fitting of bespoke fluid system, hoses and valves.

The appropriate candidate would be trained in fabrication and preferably has an experience of bending copper or steel pipes.

Responsibilities of mechanical fitter:

Working to specifications assembling / fitting of fluid systems, houses, valves and pressure regulatorsUsing measuring tools, callipers, verniers and micrometresUsing measuring tools and hand toolsWorking to technical drawingsPipe bending

Requirements of mechanical fitter:

Good working knowledge of measuring tools with ability to use to use measuring andPrevious experience in precision mechanical fitting or assembly environmentAbility to read engineering drawingsPipe bending experience is desirable but full training will be providedMeticulous eye for detailPrevious experience in working to precise tolerances using measuring tools such as micrometeors and callipers

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Setter to join a busy and forward-thinking manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for setting and running moulding production orders, ensuring consistent high-quality output. You'll play a key role in achieving Right First Time and Just in Time manufacturing, working with advanced moulding techniques and standardised processes.

 Key Responsibilities

Set and condition injection mould tools to meet production requirementsRun production orders using pre-set programmes, monitoring output quality throughout the shiftRespond to machine alarms and faults, implementing permanent corrective actionsCarry out routine maintenance and fault finding on injection moulding machines and toolingControl and optimise processing parameters in line with product standards and cost requirementsMaintain accurate records of maintenance, production, and quality checksSupport supervision of shift staff when required in the absence of a SupervisorPrepare auxiliary equipment, jigs, fixtures, and assembly machinesPerform quality checks in line with company standards and identify defectsCarry out first-line troubleshooting of process and quality issuesEnsure safe handling and accurate movement of materials and stockSupport tooling trials, processing, and optimisation for new projectsParticipate in training and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience Required
