THE ROLE - Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Milling)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stand-out aerospace engineering business to support CNC Milling as a Manufacturing Engineer

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll need to possess excellent experience in CNC Milling practices and processes including programming and CAD/CAM knowledge.

Experience with 5 axis machining centers Okuma and Mazak I200 wold be highly desirable.

 

DUTIES - Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Milling)

  • Authoring and approving manufacturing processes and process specifications
  • Online and Offline programming for CNC Activities -
  • Perform problem solving and root cause corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Provide technical, machining task planning and authorisation.
  • Advise and support daily shop-floor management meetings.
  • Develop the ME function, identifying new technology to enhance productivity & quality.

 

BACKGROUND -Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Milling)

  • Manufacturing / Engineering Apprenticeship or above.
  • Previous Hands-on Machining experience
  • Experience with multi axis milling machines
  • Confident with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Offline programming using CAD/CAM software - G-Code

The Role - Quality Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our client’s team at their state-of-the-art facility based in Tewkesbury on a contract basis.

Our client design and manufacture complex mechanical products for global application in the aerospace and defence sectors.

Key deliverables of this position will centre around Production or Manufacturing Quality specifically.

Duties - Quality Engineer

Support the planning and delivery of quality activities.Assist with APQP and PPAP activities, including documentation.Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition into production.Support the development of Process Flows, PFMEA and Control PlansInvestigate non-conformances and support root cause analysis and corrective actionsContribute to continuous improvement activities across manufacturing.Help ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements (e.g. AS9100, CAA, EASA)

Omega are supporting a growing UK business in their search for a SEMA Qualified Racking Remedial and Inspection Manager. This is a national role delivering high-quality racking inspections (including mezzanine structures), remedial repairs, and load notices across the UK. Currently, this service is delivered through sub-contractors; however, you will be responsible for bringing this service in-house and building a new racking division.

The successful candidate will play a key part in raising the standard of racking services through excellent customer service and professional reporting. Already servicing over 200 sites, there is significant opportunity to grow this service offering across their wide portfolio of clients where they already provide Facilities Management maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities - Racking Remedial and Inspection Manager

 

Conduct SEMA standard racking inspections (including mezzanine floors) and produce detailed, high-quality reportsCarry out and oversee remedial repair works on racking systemsIssue and manage load notices in line with current regulationsInput inspection and repair data into the CAFM/CMMS/online work logging systemTrain and develop internal staff in racking inspection and remedial techniquesRecruit, build and lead a team of racking inspectors and remedial repair engineersEstablish processes, quality standards and documentation for the racking serviceFocus on delivering exceptional customer service and changing the perception of racking maintenance through professionalism and reliabilityEnsure full compliance with health & safety, SEMA guidelines and industry regulationsManage national scheduling and delivery of inspection and repair works

Requirements - Racking Remedial and Inspection Manager

Essential:

Fully SEMA qualified in racking inspectionProven hands-on experience in racking inspections and remedial repairsExperience of inspecting mezzanine structuresExperience of inputting data into a CAFM/CMMS/online work logging systemStrong knowledge of racking systems, safe working loads and industry standardsExperience training and mentoring othersFull UK driving licenceAbility to work independently on a national basis
