The Role - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to impressive project and programme developments, we are seeking to recruit Mechanical Design Engineers to support our client's engineering operations.

You'll need strong experience in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for rotating equipment in the aerospace sector. Demonstrable experience in the design of components such as gears, seals, rotors, transmissions or motors would be highly valuable.

Due to the complexity of the role candidates must be confident using Siemens NX design software.

 

Duties - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Create accurate technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
  • Support product development activities through full product lifecycle.
  • Apply GD&T and perform tolerance analysis.
  • Participate in DFMEA and risk identification activities.
  • Present design concepts, progress updates and design maturity at technical review gates.
  • Support prototype build, testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Generate and maintain design documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement activities.

 

Background- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Minimum HNC/HND qualification.
  • Strong experience designing rotating equipment.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX Essential).
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems (Teamcenter preferred).
  • Aerospace experiencer preferred.

£41,324.95 (Inclusive of Standby (1:4 x 13 Periods) & Competency Payment) + overtime + travel timeIncludes a £1,500 competency payment will be added to the basic salary upon completion of electrical fault training for catering and bakery equipment. The training, provided by the employer during the probation period, includes two one-week training blocks. 40 hour weekTravel time paid after half hour each wayOT paid at 1.5x Mon – Fri / 2x Sat-SunCompany pension scheme (matched up to 5%)Private healthcare (BUPA)Various employee discount schemes

Job Role - SAP Integration Specialist (FICO)

Reporting to the IT Director the SAP Integration Specialist (FICO) shall support SAP Finance processes, systems integration, and operational stability across a multi-country environment. a Functional Specialist, your role is to drive the design and deployment of SAP based solutions for your functional area of expertise (FICO).

This role is suited to a hands-on SAP professional with strong FI/CO expertise, proven experience in SAP integration, and the ability to connect business key users, functional teams, technical developers, and external support providers to deliver reliable, business-focused solutions

Duties – SAP Integration Specialist (FICO)

• Support SAP deployments and ensure effective transition from project phases into support operations.
• Manage SAP Finance integration with other systems, including setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Analyze business and system issues, identify root causes, and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Help prevent SAP-related P&L write-offs by improving process controls, data accuracy, issue resolution, and ownership across finance and operational processes.
• Support SAP processes required to meet customer contract requirements, including commercial, financial, and reporting obligations.
• Reduce intercompany complexity by supporting standardised SAP processes, clear transactional flows, and improved reconciliation and reporting practices.
• Support the management and visibility of commercial reserves, including rebates, liquidated damages, and other contract-related financial provisions.
• Improve ownership and governance of transactional and master data, working with business teams to strengthen data quality, accountability, and process discipline.
• Improve reporting confidence by supporting accurate SAP data, consistent process execution, and reliable integration between SAP and connected systems.
• Support SAP standardisation and lean processes across the MPSD Division and other Parker sites.
• Work with developers to support solution design, validation, and implementation.

Experience and Qualifications – SAP Integration Specialist (FICO)

• Experience in multi-country SAP implementations, SAP Finance, and systems integration.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP FI/CO processes and configuration support.
• Working understanding of SAP PP, QM, and IM.
• Experience operating in a global corporate environment
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Knowledge of BRF+ and FIORI.

The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Gloucester, is seeking experienced CNC Setter/Operators to support continued growth within their Operations team.

Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience in CNC Milling, CNC Routing, or CNC Turning (Lathe) operations, ideally using Haas and Fanuc controls. Successful candidates will join a fast-paced manufacturing environment producing high-precision components for a range of industries including Formula 1, aerospace, defence, automotive, and transport.

Key Responsibilities

Set and operate Haas/Fanuc-controlled CNC milling, routing and/or turning machines.Work from engineering and technical drawings to manufacture precision components.Install, edit and run machine programmes.Prepare and load materials and components.Manufacture parts to specified tolerances and quality standards.Carry out in-process inspection and measurement of finished components.Accurately complete inspection records and quality documentation.Use the IFS ERP system to fulfil daily production responsibilities.Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Managers and Quality personnel.Report any production, quality or equipment issues promptly.Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the work area.Take a proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring compliance with company procedures.Support operational requirements by remaining flexible and adaptable to changing production demands.Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Previous experience setting and operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.Experience in one or more of the following: CNC MillingCNC RoutingCNC Turning (Lathes) Experience operating Haas and/or Fanuc-controlled machines.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Understanding of M and G codes.Experience working to tight tolerances.Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection processes.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

Engineering apprenticeship, Level 3 NVQ, or City & Guilds qualification in a relevant discipline.Experience machining a range of materials including aluminium, composites and plastics.Experience using inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers, shadowgraphs and CMM equipment.Understanding of quality assurance and continuous improvement principles.

Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pmFriday: 6:00am - 11:30am
