Position: Hydraulic Test Technician
Location: Gloucester
type of position: Permanent

Working hours: 37 hours per week flex start and finish

Salary: 35,000 per annum to £38,000


Hydraulic Test Technician required by industry leading engineering company to work at their Gloucester site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the test of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical assemblies. Detailed written work instructions are followed in accordance with strict Aviation standards

Main Duties of Hydraulic Test Technician

  • The test of units following strict guidelines and instructions set by the Company and its customers, in accordance with required Aviation standards
  • Test of Hydraulic components
  • Using appropriate test facilities perform required tests to the relevant specification recording results as necessary.
  • Ensure traceability is maintained throughout the test processes
  • Fault find, strip down and repair of components
  • Supporting engineering/ Quality Investigations and project work
  • Complete self-inspection of components and related cleaning to enable Quality Inspection and control checks to be carried out.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Ability and experience of working on mechanical or hydraulic components. With ability and experience of utilising detailed drawings and other relevant documentation, to aid this requirement.
  • Electrical experience is an advantage
  • Experience of testing hydraulic units would be an advantage
  • Experience of working to close tolerances and time limits
  • Strong and demonstrable attention to detail in the build and testing of electrical and hydraulic components
  • Ability to follow written instructions, in accordance with required Aviation standards, in the creation and testing of components
  • Must have good written and oral skills
  • Apprenticeship, equivalent experience or a qualification such as NVQ Level 3 are desired

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our client’s team at their state-of-the-art facility based in Tewkesbury on a permanent basis.

Our client design and manufacture complex mechanical products for global application in the aerospace and defence sectors.

Key deliverables of this position will centre around APQP and PPAP, therefore demonstrable experience in these areas is a necessity.

 

Key Responsibilities: Quality Engineer

Support APQP integration and implementation into NPI process.Support advanced quality planning activities.Incorporate customer requirements into NPI processes.Integrate lessons learned into APQP activities.Coordinate and monitor PPAP activities.Identify and implement improvements in manufacturing processes.Support cross functional teams in non-conformances and corrective actions.Support external compliance audits.Resolve corrective actions raised during audits.

 

Skills and Experience: Quality Engineer

Experience in general APQP and PPAP application.Experience of working in an AS9100 environment.Knowledge and practical experience with PFMEA.Experience in supporting NPI.Effective communication internally and externally.
