Role Overview - Injection Moulding Setter

Our client, a successful and expanding manufacturer based in Lancashire, is looking to recruit an experienced Injection Moulding Setter to support their production operation.

You will be responsible for setting and optimising injection moulding machinery, carrying out tool changes, and ensuring production processes run smoothly to meet both customer expectations and operational targets.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within injection moulding, a solid understanding of processing techniques, and a proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities - Injection Moulding Setter

Set and prepare injection moulding machines in line with production plans and operational requirements.Conduct mould/tool changes efficiently using best practice techniques and ensure machines are correctly configured.Carry out first-off approvals and quality inspections prior to production runs.Fine-tune machine settings to achieve optimum cycle times, product quality, and production efficiency.Investigate and resolve processing issues to minimise downtime and reduce waste.Accurately complete production records, machine documentation, and shift reports.Liaise with production operators, quality teams, and supervisors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.Support and contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing productivity and performance.Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.Adhere to all company health & safety procedures and quality standards.Ensure compliance with manufacturing processes and operating procedures at all times.

Key Experience & Requirements - Injection Moulding Setter

Proven experience working as an Injection Moulding Setter within a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes, machine setup, and process optimisation.Understanding of polymer materials and their processing characteristics.Effective fault-finding and diagnostic skills with the ability to solve technical problems.Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Experience carrying out mould changes and improving manufacturing performance.Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a production environment.Able to work independently while also contributing as part of a wider team.Strong communication skills and attention to detail.Full UK driving licence desirable.

Electronic Design Engineer

Electronic Design Engineer required by a leading engineering and technology business, based near Tewkesbury to join their growing team.

Working alongside a team of experienced engineers, the successful Electronic Design Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, testing, and manufacture of electronic hardware, with a strong focus on PCB design and layout. Working on a wide variety of projects, from concept through to production.

Main Duties; Electronic Design Engineer

Design, develop, and support electronic circuits and hardware systems for both new and existing products.Create and maintain schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.Select electronic components and manage associated component libraries and footprints.Participate in Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) reviews.Support prototype assembly, board bring-up, testing, and validation activities.Investigate and resolve hardware issues using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.Produce and maintain technical documentation such as schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and test procedures.Liaise with PCB manufacturing and assembly partners to support production activities.Work collaboratively throughout the entire product development lifecycle.Maintain accurate engineering records, revision control, and project documentation.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Electronic Design Engineer

Experience using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.Multi-layer PCB design experience.Understanding of IPC standards and EMC compliance requirements.Experience with circuit simulation tools such as SPICE.Programming or scripting knowledge in Python, C, C#, or similar languages.Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, SVN, or engineering data management platforms.Experience of taking products from concept through to manufacture and ongoing support.

Salary: £37440 to £41600

We are now seeking to recruit a Fabricator to join Fabrication workshop based in Caldicot. It’s a permanent fabrication work that would require the right candidate to se a variety of fabrication techniques, hand tools, and machinery to produce high-quality products while maintaining safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.Measure, mark out, cut, bend, and shape metal materials to required dimensions.Assemble fabricated components using welding, bolting, riveting, and other fastening methods.Operate fabrication equipment including guillotines, presses, drills, grinders, saws, and bending machines.Carry out MIG, TIG, or MMA welding where required.Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.Use measuring equipment such as tape measures, micrometres, verniers, and gauges.Perform finishing operations including grinding, deburring, and polishing.Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety requirements.Report material shortages, equipment faults, and quality issues to supervisors.Work collaboratively with welders, engineers, and production teams to meet production deadlines.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a fabrication or metalworking environment.Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.Knowledge of fabrication processes and manufacturing techniques.Experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good problem-solving and organisational skills.Understanding of health and safety procedures within a workshop environment.Previous fabrication experience.Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication and Welding, Engineering, or a related discipline.Welding certifications (MIG, TIG, MMA).Forklift, overhead crane, or lifting equipment experience

The Role - Mechanical Workshop Technician

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical biased Technician to join a fascinating aviation MRO business.

You will be supporting the precision assembly, repair, overhaul, and testing of integrated aircraft mechanical assemblies and systems.

This is a hands-on role that requires an engineer’s problem solving due to the nature of some of the systems and assemblies, as every day will present new technical challenges.

This role would suit someone who enjoys problem solving on mechanically biased systems or mechanical restoration projects (Classic cars, Aircraft, Classic bikes) such as mechanics or aircraft technicians.

 

Duties - Mechanical Workshop Technician

Disassemble aircraft mechanical assemblies to assess condition, wear, and serviceability.Perform precision mechanical repairs and reassembly.Support “Reduce to Produce” activities to maximise component recovery.Interpret and apply Component Maintenance Manuals and Repair Instructions.Select appropriate materials, consumables, and repair methods in line with aviation standards.Bring assemblies and components back to an overhauled standard.

 

Background - Mechanical Workshop Technician
