Position: Fabricator/ Fitter
Salary: £35100
Working 37.5 hours per week over a 5-day week (Mon- Fri); with core hours being 10:00 to 15:00

We are now seeking to recruit a Fabricator Fitter to join workshop based in Bristol. It’s a permanent fabrication/ fitter opportunity that would require the right candidate would be responsible for forming, fabricating, aligning, fitting and assembling steel or aluminium parts, components and equipment, to build bespoke equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut, shape, bend, and fabricate steel, stainless steel, and aluminium to precise measurements. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Operate fabrication machinery such as guillotines, steel working machines, bandsaws. Assemble and fit metal components using welding, bolting, and riveting techniques, ensuring alignment and accuracy.
- Responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, pneumatic and mechanical systems, ensuring they function efficiently and safely. Ensure accuracy and quality of finished products by conducting visual inspections, using measuring tools to conduct quality checks and diagnostic tests on finished work, adjusting and modifications where necessary.
- Conducting routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, repairing or replacing defective components, and performing preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns
- Working to technical drawings
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a fabrication / fitting or metalworking environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures within a workshop environment.
- Previous fabrication experience.
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication and Welding, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Welding certifications (MIG, TIG, MMA).
- Forklift, overhead crane, or lifting equipment experience
