The Role - Manual Cylindrical Grinder

My client, a leading manufacture specialising in the aerospace and defence industry, is currently seeking a talented Manual Cylindrical Grinder to join their team.

As a Manual Cylindrical Grinder you’ll be responsible for operating and setting machines to produce parts to extremely tight tolerances. 

You’ll be joining a great team within a vibrant employment sector.

 

Duties - Manual Cylindrical Grinder

  • Set and operate manual cylindrical grinding machines (S20/RM2500)
  • Grind to tight tolerances (down to 0.00005”)
  • Work from engineering drawings to achieve exact specifications
  • Support flow plotting activities including
  • Grind components to ensure correct flow distribution and performance
  • Carry out work that meets strict aerospace quality standards

 

Background – Manual Cylindrical Grinder

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Setting and operating manual cylindrical grinders
  • Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and process improvement.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Category Manager to join a leading global engineering company. This strategic procurement role will be responsible for developing and delivering category strategies, driving supplier performance, and supporting long-term supply chain optimisation initiatives.

Main Duties: Category Manager

Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies aligned to business objectives.Identify, assess, qualify, and develop new suppliers.Manage supplier relationships and drive continuous performance improvement.Lead commercial negotiations covering contracts, pricing, lead times, and service agreements.Support cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.Optimise inventory performance across the procurement portfolio.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support supply chain and procurement transformation programmes.

The ideal will be able to demonstrate the following Category Manager

Proven experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement within a manufacturing or engineering or equivalent environment.Strong knowledge of PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies).Experience developing sourcing strategies and managing supplier selection processes.Strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable outcomes.Ability to build effective relationships across suppliers and internal stakeholder groups.Results-driven with a proactive and collaborative approach.

The role will involve maintaining, servicing and repairing Refrigeration Equipment in customer locations and provide assistance to HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.

Key Responsibilities – Refrigeration Engineer
