A leading automotive lighting manufacturer supplying luxury and supercar brands is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the delivery of its Quality strategy. The business is undergoing significant investment and transformation, creating an exciting opportunity for an individual who can drive quality performance, exceed customer expectations, and support operational excellence across production and new product introduction.

This role is central to ensuring product quality, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing and customer programmes.

Key Responsibilities – Quality Engineer   

Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Implement all relevant procedures within the Business Management System (BMS) and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure in‑house systems and procedures are updated, revised, and aligned with external certification requirements.
  • Assist in internal process and product audits of the BMS.
  • Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.
  • Ensure all necessary systems and documentation are in place to satisfy customer requirements and audits.

Customer Quality & Issue Resolution

  • Respond to customer complaints, implementing containment actions, root cause analysis, error‑proofing (poka‑yoke), and both short‑ and long‑term countermeasures.
  • Report the status of customer claims and ensure alignment between customer expectations and internal actions.
  • Support customer PPAP submissions in line with customer and internal requirements.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Update quality documentation and communicate lessons learned from quality concerns.
  • Support scrap‑reduction programmes in line with business targets.
  • Support regular inspection meetings and contribute to action plans for improving quality.
  • Support engineering change processes, ensuring quality deliverables are met.

Reporting & Communication

  • Report against agreed quality metrics on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Produce written reports and deliver presentations as required.
  • Attend cross‑functional meetings and communicate actions clearly.
  • Support quality‑related issues with manufacturing and wider operational teams.

 

Qualifications & Requirements – Quality Engineer   

  • Technical degree or HNC/HND (desirable).
  • Excellent organisational and follow‑up skills.
  • Competent in problem solving, planning, decision‑making, and team collaboration.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels, from shop floor to director level.

Key Responsibilities – Project Manager

Responsible for all Project Management aspects relating to the successful delivery of projects that have been assigned.Work with multi-disciplined teams and demonstrate full accountability for on time delivery of the agreed scopeManage project timing and maintain an accurate, up to date project timing plan.
