Are you ready to build something from the ground up rather than simply inherit it?

Omega is recruiting for a newly created Maintenance Planner & Engineering Stores opportunity within a well-established, market-leading process manufacturing business, currently undergoing significant investment and transformation.

This is not a role where you'll walk into a mature planning function!

Instead, you'll have the opportunity to own the journey from engineering stores organisation through to maintenance planning, helping create structure, visibility and control across the engineering department whilst playing a key role in a major site transformation programme culminating in the launch of a new CMMS, warehouse management system and SCADA platform.

If you enjoy improving systems, creating order from chaos and influencing positive change, this could be the ideal challenge.

The Opportunity - Engineering Maintenance Planner & Stores Lead

Working alongside and reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll become the focal point for engineering planning, stores management, contractor coordination and CMMS development.

The site is currently at the start of its maintenance planning journey, with a significant opportunity to introduce best practice, improve work scheduling, increase planned maintenance activity and develop a world-class engineering stores function. You'll be joining at an exciting time with ££multi- million of site investment planned and major upgrades scheduled across operations.

Key Responsibilities - Engineering Maintenance Planner & Stores Lead

  • Develop and lead the engineering store’s function
  • Implement robust stock control and critical spare management
  • Build and develop the site's maintenance planning processes
  • Schedule preventative maintenance activities around production requirements
  • Coordinate contractors, permits and engineering activities
  • Reduce maintenance backlog and improve work order completion
  • Support future CMMS implementation and system migration projects
  • Manage engineering purchasing and spare parts control
  • Create asset registers, maintenance schedules and equipment histories
  • Coordinate weekly shutdown activities and larger maintenance outages
  • Produce engineering KPIs and planning performance reports
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to improve reliability

What We're Looking For - Engineering Maintenance Planner & Stores

We are interested in speaking with candidates from backgrounds such as:

  • Maintenance CMMS Planner, Engineering Planner, Engineering Stores Lead, Engineering Stores Coordinator, CMMS Administrator, Maintenance Coordinator, Engineering Support Coordinator, Reliability Coordinator, Engineering Inventory Controller, MRO Coordinator
  • Engineering Supervisor or senior maintenance engineer looking for a planning-focused role

You'll ideally have experience within: Engineering Maintenance Planner & Stores

  • General Manufacturing or FMCG, Food or Processing, Agricultural Processing
  • Bulk Materials Handling
  • Industrial Processing
  • Heavy Engineering
  • FMCG
  • Processing Plants
  • Automated Manufacturing
  • Experience using maintenance systems such as SAP, Shire, Piranha, Agility, Maximo or similar CMMS platforms would be advantageous.

Why This Role? Engineering Maintenance Planner & Stores Lead

This is a genuine opportunity to make your mark.

Rather than stepping into an established structure, you'll be instrumental in creating one.

You'll have ownership, autonomy and visibility, working directly alongside senior leadership to transform engineering planning, contractor management, asset reliability and engineering stores performance as part of a long-term investment programme.

What’s on Offer? Package Target:

  • £44,000 - £52,000 Salary
  • Overtime Available
  • 38-Hour Week
  • Monday-Friday Days
  • Hybrid Flexibility
  • Long-Term Career Development
  • Significant Capital Investment Programme
  • Newly Created Position
  • Opportunity to Influence Future CMMS & Engineering Systems
