We are supporting a major UK manufacturing organisation, a highly confidential manufacturing transformation and facility expansion programme

This is an NDA protected assignment and recruitment process.

The purpose is to help define and support project scope, technical solution, costs, risks, programme and investment requirements to make an informed funding decision.

This assignment forms part of the feasibility, front-end engineering, scoping and business justification phase of a significant CAPEX investment. Introduction of new manufacturing technologies, process innovation, infrastructure upgrades and the development of new production facility, mixing blending etc

We are seeking an experienced Interim Project Engineer Manager, Manufacturing Services Engineer, Interim Plant Services Engineer or Contract Engineering Project Consultant to support the development and delivery of critical factory services, utilities and manufacturing infrastructure workstreams.

Suited to engineering consultants with experience in Plant Services Engineering, Manufacturing Utilities, Factory Infrastructure, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Process Manufacturing, Heavy Industry, Building Products, Chemicals, Materials Processing etc.

Consultants should be able to demonstrate experience delivering utility and factory services projects within manufacturing, including Factory expansion or new build projects, Process manufacturing facilities, Building products, FMCG, chemicals, coatings, paints, aggregates or materials processing industries are ideal.

Your company will be engaged on an outcomes-based consultancy basis and should be comfortable operating autonomously, providing specialist expertise and delivering agreed project milestones through their own Limited Company.

Project Scope – Interim Project Engineer Manager

The programme centres around the development and implementation of an innovative manufacturing process involving:

  • Introduction of new raw materials and manufacturing technologies
  • Manufacturing process redesign and optimisation
  • Development of new production methods and operating philosophies
  • Upgraded plant utilities and factory services infrastructure

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Utilities & Factory Services
  • Electrical infrastructure and power distribution
  • Compressed air generation and distribution networks.
  • Industrial pumping systems, Wastewater treatment and environmental systems, Process utilities
  • Ancillary plant and support equipment, Ventilation and extraction systems
  • Factory services upgrades and expansion, Front-End Project Development, FEED and feasibility activities
  • Development of User Requirement Specifications (URS), Tender and contractor engagement, OEM
  • Management of engineering work packages, Coordination of consultants, contractors and suppliers
  • Engineering governance and reporting, Project planning and schedule development.

Key Deliverables – Interim Project Engineer Manager

  • Support front-end development of a major manufacturing expansion
  • Develop engineering scopes and tender packages for critical infrastructure projects
  • Support feasibility and engineering reviews across factory services and utilities
  • Support a defined utilities and infrastructure workstream
  • Identify and evaluate engineering solutions to support future manufacturing processes
  • Ensure work packages progress from concept through to investment approval readiness

Ideal Background – Interim Project Engineering Manager

  • Proven manufacturing project engineering experience
  • Plant utilities, factory services or infrastructure, Industrial utilities and infrastructure projects
  • Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and CAPEX development
  • Experience within industrial manufacturing, building materials products, FMCG, chemicals, process manufacturing or heavy industry
  • Successful delivery of CAPEX, expansion or site development projects
  • FEED, feasibility and front-end engineering experience
  • Experience developing URS and tender documentation
  • HNC, HND or Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
