We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer to join our client's growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with automation and testing systems, commissioning complex engineering projects both across the UK and internationally.

What you'll be doing:

  • Commissioning plant, machinery and site systems to ensure safe, efficient operation
  • Calibrating and setting up electrical, mechanical and electronic data acquisition systems
  • Carrying out PID tuning of control loops including speed, torque and temperature control
  • Testing and validating bespoke automation software alongside development engineers
  • Configuring automated test sequences within flexible control systems
  • Conducting test runs, gathering results and verifying performance against specification
  • Following commissioning procedures and completing all required checks
  • Producing commissioning schedules alongside site management teams
  • Supporting customer sign-off activities and ensuring system functionality requirements are met
  • Delivering customer training on the operation of supplied equipment
  • Undertaking fault-finding, calibration and service visits when required
  • Working closely with internal test and engineering departments throughout project delivery

What we need from you:

  • Previous commissioning experience within automated machinery, industrial equipment or test systems
  • Strong electrical, mechanical and control systems knowledge
  • Experience calibrating, testing and fault finding complex equipment
  • Understanding of PID tuning and control systems would be advantageous
  • Ability to plan and organise workloads effectively
  • Strong communication skills and experience working directly with customers
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, solution-focused approach
  • Able to work independently and consistently deliver to project deadlines
  • Passionate about engineering and delivering high-quality results
  • Full willingness to travel within the UK and internationally
