Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Cinderford, Gloucestershire

Contract Type: Permanent We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join a growing engineering business based in Cinderford.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead operational performance across manufacturing, field engineering, warehouse and logistics functions while helping to drive the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities - Operations Manager
- Take ownership of day to day operations across workshop manufacturing field engineering warehouse logistics and operational administration
- Lead and develop managers and supervisors through clear accountability performance expectations and operational standards
- Coordinate labour equipment materials and resources to meet customer requirements and delivery targets
- Improve communication and collaboration between operational departments
- Drive operational improvements across productivity planning quality and delivery performance
- Oversee field engineering activities including scheduling utilisation performance and reporting
- Ensure site work materials and outstanding actions are effectively managed through to completion
- Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks waste rework and inefficiencies
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles to support business growth
- Manage warehouse stock control logistics and material availability processes
- Improve stock accuracy and drive effective use of ERP MRP and warehouse management systems
- Coach and develop managers supervisors and operational teams
- Support recruitment workforce planning succession planning and employee development
- Monitor operational KPIs including productivity labour utilisation delivery quality and stock performance
- Work closely with senior leadership to improve operational efficiency profitability and customer satisfaction
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across all operational areas
- Ensure compliance with company procedures quality standards and relevant legislation
- Support digitalisation automation and system improvements where operational benefits can be achieved
Qualifications & Requirements - Operations Manager
- Previous senior operational leadership experience within engineering manufacturing industrial services or a similar environment
- Strong people management experience with responsibility for managers and supervisors
- Proven track record of improving operational performance and business processes
- Practical understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Experience using ERP MRP or similar operational systems
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing productivity labour utilisation and operational costs
- Good understanding of health and safety within engineering or manufacturing environments
- Experience leading change and improving team performance within a growing business
- Strong communication leadership and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple operational functions and priorities simultaneously
