Role Overview – Manufacturing Engineer

Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with strong machining and process‑development expertise? This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering organisation that produces high‑precision components for critical applications. Working within an advanced manufacturing environment, you will play a key part in developing, optimising and supporting machining processes across a range of complex products.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will contribute to new product introduction, production support and continuous improvement activities, ensuring best‑in‑class performance across Quality, Cost and Delivery. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, efficient and scalable manufacturing processes for both new and legacy programmes.

Key Responsibilities – Manufacturing Engineer

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes using 3D models and engineering drawings.
  • Create machining strategies for complex components, with a focus on medium‑sized turning operations.
  • Program Mill/Turn components using CAD/CAM systems such as Siemens NX or Edgecam.
  • Design fixtures, tooling and support approval of gauges and special tooling.
  • Lead and support DFM, DFSS and APQP activities including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and MSA.
  • Define standard operation times and drive Lean improvements to eliminate waste.
  • Provide hands‑on problem‑solving support, including RCCA and non‑conformance mitigation.
  • Support shop‑floor operations, including participation in daily production review meetings.
  • Develop turnkey manufacturing process packages for deployment across other business locations.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain teams.

Key Qualifications & Experience – Manufacturing Engineer

  • Apprentice trained or equivalent (HND/HNC)
  • Strong background within manufacturing or process engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of Mill/Turn machining, with emphasis on turning.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD/CAM (Siemens NX or Edgecam).
  • Experience with SolidWorks or Siemens NX CAD.
  • Experience in fixture design and tooling selection.
  • Knowledge of NC post‑processing.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Solumina or similar systems.
  • Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, DFM, DFSS and APQP methodologies.
  • Skilled in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
