Exciting opportunity to be involved in a company establishing a facility in Gloucestershire, if you are looking for a start up environment this is for you!

We are seeking a proactive electronics technician to perform assembly, testing, and maintenance for complex systems, as well as participate in the prototyping operating and debugging of associated test equipment. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable working with established processes and procedures, or with helping to develop and refine new ones.

‍The opportunity for you

‍You will be a core member of the operations team at the UK Product Centre, working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality & Compliance. Your work will ensure that products are produced, deployed, and maintained. You will have the opportunity to positively impact technology and processes as we move from prototype builds to commercial operations.

‍You will own

  1. Assembly and Maintenance
    • Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and perform maintenance on products and associated equipment containing electronics according to technical specifications and procedures.
    • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and engineering instructions to facilitate assembly and repair processes.
    • Conduct functional tests, performance evaluations, and calibrations on equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed service records, calibration logs, and repair documentation.
    • Generate reports on work performed and equipment status.
    • Assist with managing the inventory of electronic components, parts, and supplies.
  2. Troubleshooting and Repair
    • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electronic circuitry, components, and systems using various test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
    • Assist with failure reporting.
    • Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality & Compliance to escalate / solve technical or quality issues, and support investigations.

What we expect from you:

  1. Experience & technical skills
    • Experience with the assembly, maintenance, and testing of electronics, and electromechanical systems.
    • Experience with equipment troubleshooting, and report generation.
    • Proficiency in using electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes) and hand tools.
    • Soldering skills (wire harness, surface mount, and through-hole PWB).
    • Good computer literacy e.g. Microsoft Office, Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and familiarity with diagnostic software for data entry and analysis.
    • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
    • Qualifications: A technical school certificate in electronics, electrical technology e.g. HND / BTEC, or equivalent relevant experience. Relevant IPC certifications e.g. 610, 620, J-STD-001, 7711, 7721 would be advantageous.
  2. Working style & collaboration
    • High attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline.
    • Structured and reliable, able to follow defined procedures while highlighting gaps or issues when needed.
    • Comfortable working with established processes and procedures, or with helping to develop and refine new ones.
    • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and reporting.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback, contributing to improved product performance and reliability.
