Job Title: Contract Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Kent area

Pay Range: £40 - £45 per hour open to experience and expectations

We are looking for talented and qualified individual who is a great problem solver with continuous improvement ideas that will thrive in a proactive electrical bias front-line maintenance role.

Key Responsibilities – Contract Electrical Maintenance  Engineer

•  To service adjust and repair process and production machinery and equipment using the necessary tools in a safe and proper manner

• To examine machinery and equipment and report on condition, performance, and plan of action for improvements

• Carry out Planned and preventative maintenance to agreed schedules

There is a potential of overtime and again flexibility will be required to support this when needed

Qualifications & Requirements – Contract Electrical  Maintenance Engineer  

•Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical or mechanical  engineering or similar manufacturing

•Or equivalent of any of the above in electrical or mechanical fields preferably with a manufacturing background

A competent electrical engineering professional with technical experience. Must be able to solve problems, PLC / automation experience ideally produce safe systems of workShould be capable of contributing to the development, manufacture, commissioning, decommissioning or maintenance of products, equipment, process or serviceThis is an all-round hands-on maintenance electrical role as well as conveyors and processing Machiney and Manufacturing  maintenance background preferredExtensive planned maintenance tasks and organisation of the engineering plant is also essential.

Main Duties – Quality Technician

Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and quality documentationPerform inspection and challenge internal teams and suppliers to improve quality adherenceConduct internal audits, site inspections, and root cause/corrective action activitiesInvestigate customer complaints and audit non‑conformitiesProducing quality performance reportsDelivering quality‑related trainingManaging calibration, document control, and quality registersSupporting the QHSE Manager with management systems, certifications, and strategic objectives

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly capable CMM Programmer with strong PC-DMIS experience to join a dynamic subcontract R&D engineering business. This role supports the development of innovative, often low-volume or prototype components across a variety of industries. You will play a key role in ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality during both development and early production phases, working closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS for complex and prototype componentsPerform detailed dimensional inspections to support R&D, first-off, and small-batch production activitiesInterpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications with a high degree of accuracyGenerate clear, concise inspection reports and provide data-driven feedback to engineering teamsSupport root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities for non-conformancesCollaborate closely with design and manufacturing engineers to influence product development and manufacturabilityMaintain and troubleshoot CMM equipment, ensuring reliability and accuracyContribute to the development and improvement of internal inspection processes and standards

 

Requirements:

Preferred:

Experience within a subcontract or customer-facing engineering environmentFamiliarity with multi-axis or automated CMM systemsKnowledge of additional metrology tools or softwareExposure to a range of industries (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical, or advanced engineering sectors)

Location: Quality Oat Testing Lab, Park Farm, Villa Rd, Impington, Histon, Cambridge CB24 9NZ

Days & Hours:

Monday to Friday  8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Term:

Initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension for an additional 6 months.

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Quality Oat Testing Lab on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing oat quality analysis tests on a high volume of samples. Accuracy and efficiency are key, as is the ability to record results in our data capture platform with precision.

Responsibilities:

Perform oat quality analysis tests following established protocols.Accurately record and input data into our data capture system.Manage and handle a large number of samples while maintaining high accuracy.

Requirements:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and efficiently.Basic computer literacy for data input.Use of mobile phone or tablet to add sample data to our online platform.No prior experience is necessary, as full training will be provided.
