Role Overview – Facilities Maintenance Technician

We’re recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our leading aerospace clients Facilities team at their Tewkesbury site. You will support the safe, efficient running of the site by delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), carrying out routine inspections, meter readings and sampling, and responding quickly to reactive issues to minimise production disruption.

Key responsibilities – Facilities Maintenance Technician

  • Implement and contribute to the planned maintenance schedule for key site systems including HVAC, compressed air, electrical, plumbing, and lighting.
  • Conduct routine visual checks, record meter data, take samples, and perform standard inspections to maintain regulatory and safety standards.
  • Attend promptly to equipment failures and urgent incidents to reduce operational downtime.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve energy, water, and waste management to lower costs.
  • Keep detailed, accurate records of all maintenance activities to support ISO and HSE audits.
  • Help deliver site upgrades, reconfiguration projects, and new installations.
  • Collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering teams, and external suppliers to schedule work with least impact on operations.

Key Experience and Qualifications – Facilities Maintenance Technician

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience as a maintenance technician within industrial or commercial settings.
  • Solid understanding of building services repair methods and effective diagnostic capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance processes and health & safety protocols.
  • Comfortable interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts (24/5 coverage), including nights, weekends, and on-call response when needed.
  • Level 3 NVQ or equilavent qualification in a relevant trade such as plumbing, electrical, or general building services.
  • Formal health & safety training and practical experience in working at height or in confined spaces.
