Job Title: CNC Miller Setter Operator

Shift: Day shift Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm Friday 7.30am to 1.30pm

Location: Cirencester 

A great role with a fast-growing, established precision engineering business based in Cirencester . They are looking for a time-served CNC Miller to set and operate 3 and 5 axis CNC Mills using Heidenhain or Fanuc controls (other operating system expereince considered).

Key Responsibilities – CNC Miller Setter Operator

  • They will be required to accurately read and interpret technical drawings to correctly machine a variety of materials to customer specific processes and requirements, perform appropriate duties as assigned by management, maintain a safe and clean workspace and follow established safety rules and regulations.
  • Report breakdowns, equipment faults and concerns to Management
  • Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives
  • Ensure all lost time, minor and trivial accidents are reported
  • Undertake continuous training and development
  • Support the engineering team with quotations if required
  • Assist in tooling buy off and trials
  • Ability to self-inspect own work using precision inspection tools and devices
  • Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools

Qualifications & Requirements – CNC Miller Setter Operator

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a small team
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality
  • Previous experience within the aerospace tool making industry advantageous
  • Engineering apprenticeship as a tool maker or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience working in a tool making/engineering environment
  • Experience working with an MRP system and following standard operating procedures / work order instructions
