Role Overview – Hydromechanical Engineer

Join our global aerospace client as a Hydromechanical Engineer in their Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you’ll leverage your expertise across all stages of product development, from design through to production, applying mechanical and electrical engineering principles to create innovative, high-quality components for braking systems. Your contributions will drive safety, quality, and innovation, keeping our products at the forefront of the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities – Hydromechanical Engineer

  • Design, test, maintain, and enhance components and control systems for braking platforms, with a focus on hydromechanical systems and pressure control servo valves.
  • Utilize strong technical expertise to address complex challenges through analysis, experience, and established methods.
  • Develop and oversee project documentation, including Engineering Change Notices for design enhancements, obsolescence, or supplier changes.
  • Produce customer-required documentation for engineering changes, production halts, and limited production processes.
  • Assist production and quality teams with technical inquiries, including drawing specifications, design intent, and analysis of returned components.
  • Establish environmental test objectives to validate design changes, balancing analytical approaches with similarity assessments.
  • Clearly convey technical details to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply independent judgment to resolve technical issues effectively.

Key Experience – Hydromechanical Engineer

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years with an advanced engineering degree.
  • Strong proficiency in mechanical engineering, with foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
  • Experience with hydromechanical systems or pressure control servo valve design is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach problem-solving systematically, analytically, and with discipline.
  • Capability to produce clear, compliant technical documentation for stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database tools; experience with Altium, Jira, DOORS, Matlab, LABVIEW, LTSpice, or pSPICE is beneficial.
  • A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for aerospace and adaptability to diverse challenges.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional domestic and international travel.
