The Role – R&D Engineer
We have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious R&D Engineer to join a prominent aerospace engineering business in Gloucestershire.
This is an in-depth hands-on role contributing to the satisfactory design, analysis, development, testing, and qualification of aerospace products.
You’ll be joining a fantastic team in a purpose-built modern facility where you’ll be able to make a real impact to the future of the business.
Duties – R&D Engineer
- Contributing to the development of Electro-mechanical, Electro-hydraulic and Mechatronic control components/ and components.
- Mathematical modelling with MathCAD, MatLab/Simulink, FEA
- 3D design and 2D drawing creation of concept ideas.
- Research into aerospace materials and their properties
- Develop understanding of common machining and fabrication processes
- Development of assembly techniques
- Development of qualification test methods
- Compilation of clear and concise analysis and test reports
- Presenting technical details to the customers at all levels
Background – R&D Engineer
- Degree or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Design competency (Preferably Siemens NX or similar)
- Experience with analysis tools such as MathCAD, MatLab and FEA
- Appreciation of different manufacturing techniques (Machining, assembly, testing)
- Team player with strong communication skills
