Role Overview – Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our leading global engineering client are on the look out for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team at their site based in Fareham. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a number of solutions to execute requirements for both project needs across the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities - Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Create engineering solutions to meet project requirements, including schedule, quality, and cost considerations, while adhering to company processes.
  • Work with internal and external customers, suppliers, and colleagues in mechanical, systems, and hardware disciplines both on-site.
  • Management and validation of requirements allocated to mechanical systems, according to industry standards.
  • Identifying work estimates and plans to support project managers. Proactively track progress, update plans, and adapt as projects develop.
  • Mentor and develop apprentices to enhance their skills and increase department capacity.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department, working within industry requirements.

Key Experience & Requirements - Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, processes, and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and quality
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and disciplines
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers
