Position: Machine Setter

Location: Tewkesbury

Working hours: 39 hours per week 8.00 to 5.00 Mon-Thurs and 8.00 to 1.00 Friday with ½ hour lunch break

Type of role: permanent

Salary: £26364 to £28392 + bonus

Benefits: monthly performance bonus, 24 days of holidays + BH, paid morning tea break, 2 x salary life assurance, training, canteen, overtime is paid at 1.3 for the first 4 hours and 1.5 thereafter.

We are now seeking to recruit a machine setter to work for an engineering company based in Tewkesbury. The appropriate candidate would be responsible for setting and operating Rollomatic grinding machines.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate various types of powered grinders/sanders to remove burs, protrusions etc. on surfaces to ensure parts meet customers’ specifications and production standards. 
  • Read, interpret and understand engineering drawings, standards, geometrical tolerances and surface finishes.
  • To ensure all components are machined to drawings dimensions and tolerances
  • Setting and Operating Rollomatic grinding machines to produce consumable medical products.
  • Use cleaning stations for removal of cutting oils etc.
  • Visual quality inspections.

Requirements:

  • Experience using multi-axis precision grinding machines (desirable)
  • Experience in programming or ability/willingness to learn.
  • Manufacturing experience within a high precision industry (Essential)
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment (Essential)
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and tolerances.
