We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused CNC Machine Tool Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machinery at customer sites in Weymouth, Poole, Taunton, Exeter and Plymouth as well as other surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and align CNC machines and tooling systems at customer sites
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on CNC equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, manuals, and blueprints
- Calibrate machine controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Heidenhain, etc.)
- Troubleshoot control systems, PLCs, drives, and servo systems
- Provide technical support and training to customers and end-users
- Document service visits, repairs, and parts usage in service reports
- Coordinate with service managers and technical teams to ensure timely issue resolution
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and service vehicles in good working condition
- Represent the company professionally and ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- 2+ years of experience servicing CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.)
- Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or similar
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skill
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings Familiarity with safety standards and proper lockout/tagout procedures
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and basic hand tool
- Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills
- Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
