Join a world-class team driving the future of automotive manufacturing We are a premier Tier 1 automotive supplier with a strong presence in the UK, delivering innovative, high-quality components to the world's leading vehicle manufacturers. Our Bolton facility is a key high-volume production site focused on precision assembly and testing systems, and we are now seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team.
This is a hands-on role ideal for a proactive, skilled tradesperson who thrives in a fast-paced, high-output manufacturing environment. You will play a critical role in maximising equipment uptime, driving continuous improvement, and supporting our commitment to world-class production standards.
Responsibilities – Maintenance Engineer
- Troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of high-volume PLC-controlled production equipment
- Planning and performing preventative maintenance on critical assets
- Improvement and modification of assembly/test equipment and transfer systems
- Service and maintenance of electrical and mechanical site services/plant
- Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Experience/Qualifications - Maintenance Engineer
- Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, supported by City & Guilds Part 3 (or similar) and NVQ Level 2 & 3
- Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline
- Significant hands-on experience (minimum 2+ years) in high-volume manufacturing environments
- Proven track record in equipment repair, maintenance, and process improvement
- Experience in fitting, fabrication, and machining is highly advantageous
- Strong background in maintenance and fault-finding on PLC-controlled and robotic high-volume equipment (ideal but not essential)
- Solid experience maintaining and diagnosing faults in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
