Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer
Location: Wolverhampton
Pay Range/details: £60,00 - £65,000
Contract Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our clients growing team over in the Wolverhampton area

Key Responsibilities – Senior Controls Engineer

  • Understand client requirements and translate them into effective control solutions
  •  Produce electrical and controls concept designs including Functional Design Specifications, Safety Requirements Specifications, Single Line Diagrams, Network Topologies, Device Layouts, Cause & Effect Matrices and Safety Block Diagrams
  • Hand over designs to the Hardware Design team and review outputs for accuracy and compliance
  • Create software designs including Software Design Specifications and deliver software/configuration for PLC, HMI, SCADA, robots, drives and related systems
  • Maintain the Technical Construction File throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Lead or support commissioning activities and Site Acceptance Testing · Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, client specifications and internal standards
  • Achieve project milestones and contribute to on-time delivery Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team
  • Mentor and develop less-experienced engineers
  • Undertake other duties as required to support project success

Qualifications & Requirements – Senior Controls Engineer 

  • Level 6 Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar controls engineering role
  • Very good understanding of electrical control systems, including design and implementation
  • Strong ability to work both as a team player and independently on own initiative Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Confident, proactive and organised approach to tasks
  • Adaptable to different situations and project demands
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude
  • Enthusiastic, reliable and committed to delivering quality work
