Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Northeast Region

Pay Range/details: £41,237.39 per annum (OTE £55,000 – £60,000)

Omega are supporting a global manufacturer of packaging and processing equipment in their search for a Field Service Engineer to join their service team covering the Northeast region.

 

Key Responsibilities – Field Service Engineer

  • Carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance in line with agreed customer service contracts, ensuring equipment performance and uptime are maintained.
  • Diagnose faults and undertake mechanical and electrical repairs on customer equipment, with a strong electrical bias.
  • Develop existing service contracts by identifying opportunities to increase revenue through spares, consumables, OEE improvements, and additional service offerings.
  • Prepare detailed service reports documenting work completed, faults identified, and recommendations for both internal use and customer reference.
  • Promote and advise customers on aftersales products and service solutions offered by the service department.
  • Act in an advisory capacity regarding customers’ spare parts holdings to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Build, maintain, and develop strong customer relationships, always representing the business professionally.
  • Carry out additional duties or special tasks as reasonably requested by the Field Service Manager.

 

Qualifications & Requirements – Field Service Engineer

  • Relevant engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical, or similar discipline).
  • Proven experience carrying out both mechanical and electrical maintenance, ideally with an electrical bias.
  • Background within the food, packaging, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and customer-facing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to work away from home and weekends as required.
