Lead the transformation of financial management arrangementsBudget setting, multi-million, oversee year-end processes, statutory accountingIt's a broad role covering operations delivery, people management, and strategy and oversightModernise and optimise budget setting, monitoring and medium-term financial planningDrive improvements in financial systems, controls and reporting frameworksStrengthen financial acumen across directoratesAct as a visible, credible finance leader to Members, Corporate Directors and Service LeadersLead and develop a multi-disciplinary team of senior finance professionals

CCAB qualified with significant post-qualification experienceYou will be able to be in the detail but also be able to make decisions and implement strategy through your team of direct reportsStrategic finance leadership within a large, complex organisation, with public sector local authority experience strongly preferredDeep understanding of local government finance & statutory frameworksProven track record of leading high-performing finance teamsExperience delivering systems improvements and organisational changeStrong political awareness and stakeholder management capabilityConfident communicator able to challenge and influence at a senior levelAble to operate confidently in a politically led environment
