Job Title: CNC Turner (Setter/ Operator)

Location: Gloucester

Pay Range: £30,339.75 - £36,000.00

My client a dynamic organization is looking for a CNC machinist to join their team in Gloucester. To work across diverse, high-impact industries such as aerospace, defence, and high-performance automotive. As a CNC Turner - Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathe machines, ensuring precise machining of components to meet tight tolerances and specifications.

Key Responsibilities - CNC Turner

  • Set up and operate CNC Lathe machines (Haas/Fanuc controls).
  • Edit and load NC programs on machine controls.
  • Ensure components are produced to precise tolerances.
  • Inspect and measure finished components, using in-process inspection sheets.
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation and communication with supervisors.
  • Proactively manage Health & Safety for yourself and your team.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in your work area.
  • Be flexible in performing additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements - CNC Turner

  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC Lathes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and work to tight tolerances.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc/Haas controls and knowledge of M & G codes.
  • Experience with composite and plastic materials is desirable.
  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship or hold a Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency with standard hand-held inspection equipment (CMM and Shadowgraph experience is an advantage).
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
