Job Title: Water Hygiene Technician

Location: Luton

Pay Range/details: £32,500 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

 

Omega are supporting a leading facilities management provider in the recruitment of a Water Hygiene Technician assist in the delivery of an effective national water hygiene service to ensure statutory responsibilities are met and providing a safe working environments for employees and clients.

 

Key Responsibilities – Water Hygiene Technician

  • Inspect and clean cold water storage tanks and associated systems.
  • Carry out and complete site-specific Legionella risk assessment review reports.
  • Undertake cleaning and chlorination of tanks and systems, often outside of trading hours.
  • Appropriately sample CWSTs, cold outlets, and hot water systems.
  • Audit compliance folders to ensure routine jobs are completed to standard.
  • Communicate with site management and operations teams regarding all work carried out.
  • Complete all documentation and registers on arrival and departure from each site.
  • Report non-compliance with water regulations and raise remedial work requests as required.
  • Plan and deliver scheduled site reviews, ensuring all visits are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Support night shift teams and maintain daily communication with line management.

 

Qualifications & Requirements – Water Hygiene Technician

  • Demonstrable experience within water hygiene or a similar field service environment.
  • Strong knowledge of water hygiene and Legionella control procedures.
  • Previous experience conducting Legionella risk assessments, water sampling, and tank inspections.
  • Experience in cleaning and chlorination of water systems.
  • Awareness of water regulations and compliance processes.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and stay overnight where required.
  • Physically fit and able to work at height and in confined spaces.
